Ang Babae sa Septic Tank 4 is one of the funniest local plays I’ve seen in a while. Sobrang baliw. Actually, I don’t think I’ve ever laughed that hard inside a theater. And underneath all the chaos and comedy is a genuine affection for Philippine theater.
Bukod sa ilang oras ng tawa at palakpak, siguro ang pinakanakakatuwang takeaway dito ay this show knows exactly what Philippine theater is up against—the challenges, the demands, and the compromises it constantly has to make. Pero kahit ganon, lalabas ka ng teatro na hindi lang tawang-tawa, kundi may panibagong appreciation para sa Philippine theater na patuloy itong mageevolve, hahanap ng paraan para mabuhay, at magpapatuloy na magkuwento, magpatawa, magpaiyak, at magbigay ng mga experience na tanging live theater lang ang kayang magbigay.
