I like to draw my best friend's cat as the hatman
Also sorry for being inactive, I have a migraine disorder and have had severe migraines daily for around 2 weeks now. It's absolutely debilitating and I cannot look at screens for very long. 🤧

Description from page 150:
DESCRIPTION DE TOILETTES.

Featured Plate: 1839-05 BEA4
Fashion plate 4 from The Beau Monde for May 1839, unsigned.
Description from page 66 & 67 via the Bodelain Libraries:
Plate IV
Figure 1. — Promenade Dress. — Satin dress, high mounting corsage with embroidered chemisette, exhibited in front by the cut of the dress at the bust; the sleeves in bouffans at the top, and fall thence to the dress; the skirt very full, having down the front ornaments in velvet, figuring tablier, with parallel pieces crossing down the whole extent. The velvet hat ornamented with a bouquet.
Figure 2. — Carriage Dress. — Levantine dress, the corsage fitting accurately to the shape, having a deep blond edging; the sleeves full, with a portion slightly gathered at top; the skirt ample, and having a row of velvet ornaments down the front. Satin hat and feathers.
Figure 2 — Walking Dress. — Organdi dress, cut, as to the corsage, in a manner resembling the previously described one, but rather lower in the bust; the sleeve having in the upper part bouffans rather close to the arm, the middle part wide and full, the lower part of the skirt having two rows of bouillons entirely surrounding it near to the termination. Gros de Tour Hat with satin ornaments.
Figure 4. — Evening Dress. — Crape tunic, the corsage deep with a slight drapery in front, terminating to a point, and a deep lace mantilla in addition; a bordering of the same proceeds down the front in a double row, widening materially at the lower part. Marabaut feathers ornament the corners. The hair embellished with feathers.
The First Half Figure, composed of batiste, is close fitting in the corsage, the epaulette gathered with bouffans and wide thence to the wrist.
The Second Half Figure is a representation of the back view of the costume immediately beneath it.
The capotes of satin and figured silk have a somewhat greater amplitude in the brim than most of those already described. The ornaments are small bouquets.
The caps in tulle and batiste are decoroted [sic] with small bouquets and paradise feathers, as well as satin pipings, which give a desirable variety.

This village is full of homosexual and I love them for that
Chuck Jones is the best counterexample to “the curtains are just blue” because you would not believe the amount of thought and art theory he put into his silly little cartoons
I need to dig out my Chuck Jones books but one time he was talking about the Wile E Coyote gag where he runs off a cliff and continues running for a little bit before noticing there’s no ground underneath him and then turns to the camera and holds up a sign saying “Help!” before plummeting and Jones said the reason Coyote does that instead of immediately trying to get back to the cliff edge is bc Coyote embodies anxiety and in that particular moment represents the fear and worry about the judgement of others over and above the desire for self-preservation.
Like, if someone was told that interpretation without knowing any better they’d think it came from some pretentious academic or whatever but nope! It’s literally the creator like those are the thoughts he had in his head when he was creating the cartoons
the Nine Rules of the Roadrunner cartoons always sticks with me. Rule 3 especially
I guess I like him just a bit
