hearing Dan talk about how he felt some people only liked him in concept and as half of the phan ship is SO interesting and sad.

people would push back on this so hard at the time but it really did feel like some people would go to bat for Phil and Dan couldn’t do anything right. the little pixels on the screen weren’t choosing the right dialogue options. he had too many feelings and expressed them a little too sarcastically or abrasively. he wasn’t performing his gratitude to be where he was enough.

I know Dan said he wouldn’t do the hiatus again, knowing what he knows now, but I (personally) am glad everything worked out the way it did. I’d need one hell of a break from all that pressure if I were him.

#man watching that bit brought me STRAIGHT back to 2017/18 #when everyone was hyperanalyzing dan in liveshows and gaming vids #and i would see SO. MANY. POSTS. from people saying how much they didn’t like him #why spend the energy on that genuinely #it kills me to know dan knew about that too. i hope he knows how dearly we love him no matter how he shows up now <3
