ayyy guess who’s back
It took a while before she heard the door and his voice. She was humming quietly to herself while she combed her messy hair . She seemed to have been deep in thought before facing Thor with a small smile on her face.
“It does look like they are almost done. I see the carriages are getting readied to leave down below. Come now, don’t dawdle.” she moved to his side and gave him a small nod, before moving on to the celebration hall.
“And thank you for not stretching my clothes.”
When Thor saw the smile on her face, he found himself smiling back at her. It was nice seeing her look at least somewhat happy and not so depressed like she had been before.
His happiness was short-lived, though, since they still had to go to this stupid...whatever it was. He’d all but forgotten, that’s how little he cared.
“Alright, alright,” he mumbled, walking by her side down the large hallway. Her thanks made his head tilt in confusion; and it was a while before his mind remembered what she was talking about. “I think that was more luck than my doing.”
Thor’s eyebrows raised at her complete disregard for his offer. He wasn’t necessarily offended, but rather surprised. She had a reason, though, so he didn’t let it phase him for very long.
“Yes, but you still seemed worried about it.” He pulled the stick from his mouth and wiggled it back and forth between his fingers. “And since you’d be coming to my world, it only makes sense that I’d protect you.”
‘You mean play with.’ Mani thought to herself before facing away from the lovable oath, who charged into battle without a second thought. She heard the sound of thunder and smirked before focusing on her opponent. The scepter was glowing bright blue and the very air around her turned cold, but she couldn’t smile as Hel, rose from the rubble, with a frown.
“What’s the matter, Hel? Tired already?” Mani teased before the being who overlooked Helheimr appeared before her with a nothing more than her hands, but the light of the moon was too strong for her to pierce.
“It seems you have power, my dear. It seems I’m going to have to tear it away from you.” Hel threatened before the hideous creature started to summon beasts to do the work for you, but if she thought summoning hellhounds was enough to frighten her she was mistaken, because with a cold shoulder, she dismissed the other, with sarcastic remarks.
“Oh my goodness, you have frozen me in fear.” She said before summoning her own creatures to the battle field. Golems of ice towered before the hellish beasts.
Hel could see this wasn’t going to be a battle easily won, but she was enraged and wanted nothing more to be by the side of Thor who fought with his brother in the distance. This distraction cost her because Mani appeared before her and shook her head.
“The battle is right here.”
Hel moved back, but unleashed a wave of darkness over the other, and laughed loudly thinking she killed off the other so easily.
As Thor ran at Loki, the latter simply snickered and stepped off to the side. “You’re like a beast, Brother. So easy to outmaneuver.”
Thor skidded to a stop almost instantly, spinning on his heel and facing his brother. “Only because you fight like a coward.” This caused the other to glare, one of his eyes visibly twitching. A faint smirk flashed across Thor’s face, an eyebrow raising in a taunting way. “What’s the matter, Loki? No comeback?”
Loki’s eyes narrowed more, and the second he started at the thunder god, Mjolnir was raised into the air and a flash of lightning bolted down from the sky; the air filling with a static feeling that made the hairs on the back of Thor’s neck raise. The bolt hit right in front of Loki’s feet, stunning him and sending him stumbling back a few steps.
“I’m going to tell you once, and I will not repeat myself, Loki.” Thor threateningly continued to hold the hammer up. “Go home.”
the next time you talk down to me i will smash in your knees so you will have to look up to see my sneer.
“…thank you.”
She got up and picked up the clothes she left by the side and put it in her bag. Well, at least her clothes are safe and he’s free of any suspicion, right? Right. That should be good enough, really. She set her bag aside and waited for him to finish up.
“…I’ll wait for you outside, okay. Get dressed.” she muttered as she opened the door and smiled at him before letting herself out of his room.
Thor watched her leave, then slowly slid off the bed. He did it as carefully as possible, but his head still spun and he saw stars for a moment or two. Once his dizzy spell passed, he grabbed his clothes and got changed.
If someone looked into his eyes, or knew that he was acting just slightly off from his usual self, it’d be obvious he was drunk. Aside from that, he would probably be able to pull off acting normal until his head completely cleared.
With a soft sigh, he opened and door and glanced around until he saw Fai. Thor stepped completely into the hallway, shutting the door behind him. “Alright,” he said, the slur almost completely gone from his voice. “I’m ready.”
“Your...very sophisticated anime, in which your tastes are far superior to everyone else’s.”
“Your anime. My bad. I’m sorry.”
“Than learn what anime is, BAKA!”
“Stop yelling at me. I’m sorry I didn’t know the proper term for your cartoons.”
“Hey! The crazy Chinese cartoon mentioned me! And Mjolnir!”
“Chinese cartoon….”
“You mean.. anime? baka..”
“You don’t always have to call me names, you know.”
“Hey! The crazy Chinese cartoon mentioned me! And Mjolnir!”
Mani looked to the bloody and listened to this explanation clearly and by the end of it she was swayed and seen by his good graces once more. Mani shifted her eyes to look at Hel and raised her scepter. She was restoring Thor’s power to him.
“I forgive you for you past errors.” She said to the god of thunder before moving her eyes to look over at the Hel and smiled. “As for you there is no other fitting punishment then suffering by the power I wield.” She said angrily before appearing in front of Hel and grabbing the woman by the throat.
Oksana was a kind and beautiful soul, but Mani had the power and mentally of a true warrior. To her Hel was nothing more than an insect to be crushed, but she enjoyed playing with her enemies before delivering the execution strike.
With the strength of a raging tundra, Hel was tossed to her thrown, which caused her to go right through it, but it couldn’t have been that easy. However, with the time that she had, she placed a kiss on Thor’s lips.
“That’s from Oksana, now don’t you have a sibling to be thrashing?” Mani asked before turning around to face her enemy, who she assumed was pretty mad.
She...just kissed him.
Thor didn’t know what to do — he was stunned, freezing in place as his eyes grew wide and his face turned bright red. Even after she pulled away from him, he stayed standing there with his mouth hanging partially open.
“O..oh, yeah. I do.” Letting out a partially deep breath, Thor shut his eyes for a moment to clear his head. Opening them again, he gripped his hammer as he saw Hel start getting up from the corners of his eyes.
“And you’ve still got her to deal with.” Thor narrowed his eyes in the direction of Loki, his grip on the hammer’s handle and ran off towards his brother, the sound of thunder starting to fill the air around him, a white blue light starting to emit from his hammer.
More thoughts crowded her mind, and she placed her hand over his cheek, unable to say anything for quite a time. She felt like drowning in her own thoughts, troubled and unsure of what to do next.
With his answer, she can really just get out of the party with him and not deal with these people. But following him will cause rumors, and he’s had previous people come with him and had granted him a different view. She didn’t wanna add into that too…
…why did she have to care?
“if you really mean that, then get dressed and lets go. Let’s just get this over with so we’ll have more time for ourselves later. The sooner we’re done here, the sooner I can take this stupid thing off…” she muttered, her thumb rubbing his cheek softly. She’ll help him straighten things out later, take the blame if she has to. It’s what she can do, after all.
The feeling of her hand on his cheek, and then her thumb rubbing on it, was almost enough to make Thor fall asleep. In fact, he actually started. He felt himself start drifting off, golden eyes slipping shut. Just before he completely drifted off, Fai’s voice woke him back up.
“Huh...?” Very slightly, Thor felt the alcohol start wearing off; just enough for him to listen to her. Drowsily, he sat up off her and searched around the bed for his clothes. Upon finding them, he pulled them on.
“...Alright.”
