I am staring at the most beautiful moon rise right now, slowly creeping up above the waves. It’s 9:12 pm on a Monday and while everyone is cramming for finals, I am here. Peacefully serene. My feet are dangling over the edge of my hammock, which rocks back and forth in the salty breeze. Acoustic melodies are quietly playing from my laptop and I feel totally alone on this beach right now. I keep getting hit with different feels and nostalgic memories which are joyful and bittersweet spontaneously. I’m happy with where I have come this past year and the state I’m currently in, but sometimes I just get these overwhelming longings for how things used to be. It’s 9:18 pm on a Monday and while the rest of the world is moving forward, I am resting in this moment.

fun facts: elephants are some of the nicest, most caring animals on the planet. they go through physical depression and suffer grief when their loved one dies and in situations like this, the whole entire herd will work together in order to save one and won’t move on until the one in danger has been saved or is dead.

Freaking OUT

WOW  I am so thankful for LIFE. This week has just been awesome for absolutely no reason! It's so strange how simply changing from one month to the next instantly lifted my spirits. I feel happy, beautiful, loved, and productive. Even though this semester has been incredibly insane and has made me sacrifice a lot, I am feeling more excited and prepared every day. I cannot WAIT to be a teacher and fulfill my calling. Today I became aware that not even one year from now, I will be interning and in the process of interviewing. INTERVIEWING. For my career. The scary thing is, I can count that many months on just two hands.  I'm not ready at all but so ready at the same time.

I'm finally embracing the future and am growing to become no longer anxious about what is to come. My plans for this summer (although they seem unreal right now) are going to ACTUALLY happen. My mixture of emotions - worried, eager, fearful, and euphoric - are what is feeding my openness to the future. I'm also trying to rid myself of having expectations: about people and situations. Looking through life in this lens has made such a positive impact and I find myself not feeling disappointed. 

I am just so incredibly elated amid all this craziness. I can't remember the last time I had free time doing something that I enjoyed. Over a week may go by that I haven't seen a friend. If I was able to get more than 6 hours of sleep one night I would fall over and die of happiness. I'm surprised my bottle of aspirin isn't empty because of the number of times I have to take pills for a headache. This is the toughest semester of all my years in school and I want to drop out every day, BUT AMID ALL THE CRAZINESS I AM SMILING. Even though it's taking many many tears to get there, I have never felt so accomplished.
