It was a cold afternoon.

The two had been walking in the barren, cold wasteland for a while now.

They’ve been on their own ever since that day, but only had reunited recently.

Freezing, Whipping wind had slapped the Small Child in the face, His Black, Messy curls getting in his Eyes. He grunted in annoyance and swept them away from his eyes. “Damn Wind. .” The Boy looked up at the Much Taller Figure walking alongside him, who was a Redheaded Younger Man, with Forest Green Eyes and a Golden Bandana around his neck. He had had a hopeful smile on his Face, but his Eyes said otherwise. “..David, I don’t think we’re gonna find anything today. We didn’t Yesterday, either.” Spoke the Boy. The Redhead— David, looked down at the Boy as they kept a pace. “I’m sure we will, Max! We just have to keep looking is All..!”

Max Scoffed, “That’s Bullshit! This is Hopeless!” David frowned, “Max, Language! We can’t go Home just yet!-“

The Child Inhaled sharply, balling his fists and stopping before turning around to look up at the Man.

“You know what? Fuck th-“

“What’s That?” David said suddenly.

“...What’s What, Camp Man?”

“That— That over there- Excuse me, kiddo-“

The Lanky, Tall Redhead ran behind Max a bit, before bending down to look at something in the Snow. Max turned around and quickly came over. “What the Hell is that?”

David gently picked it up and brushed the Dirt and Snow off of it. Upon Closer Inspection, it was a CellPhone. “..A Phone..!”

“Does it Work??”

“I Don’t Know—“

“Let me see, Dumbfuck!”

Max snatched the Cellphone out of David’s Hands and searched for a Button on it. He soon found one and pressed it. The Screen was cracked, but it flickered to Life. It was somehow still working, and had a 20% of Battery Left. “...It works! Holy Fucking Shit!”

Max , per usual , had an idea of the sort of war the states were in the middle of. Similar things happend back in the. . 60's, was it? Who knows , max never paid attention in history. Boring old men.

But one thing that always stuck with him?

' history repeats. '

Sure , he always thought it was some sort of dumb rule that made kids *want* to study history , but when max saw the orange sky , a color that wasn't natural- an orange that wasn't like the sunsets he'd view with his friends , or the orange of the sun when the day was to hot to even move, No .. that orange was man made.

And the ear piercing sirens only added onto the fact of what was happening. An air raid.

Panic overcame Max's short stature , he could've sworn he heard david shout something- but his ears ached from the sirens , and his mind went into panic mode.

So .. as any reasonable person would do .. he ran away. Max dashed away from the group , toward the tents , and into his shared space with neil. Nabbing his blue backpack , he heard the screams of the other kids ..

Max shook at the thought of the mess hall falling , collapsing like a lincoln log cabin. cowering under his cot , the chaos causer clung to his bag like it was the last thing he had in the world.

It was a Normal, Sunny Day at Camp. The Campers were Laughing as they ran around, having an Intense Water-Gun fight in the Activities Field. Gwen sat in a Chair with a Book in her hands, paying no attention to her surroundings. David stood nearby, making sure none of the Children were playing too rough. “Now now, Kids! Let’s play nice!” ...Which only resulted in him getting Pelted with Water by Max, Nikki and Neil. “We’ll never conform to the Camp-Man! Rebel!” Yelled Nikki, doing a War-Cry as she then ran around spraying the other campers with Water. David sighed and wiped off the Liquid, his Hair Floof drooping. He looked over to Gwen, before looking up to the Sky. It was Clear and Sunny, without a Cloud. ‘Today is a Good Day,’ he thought to Himself. The Lanky Camp-Man gazed up for a While, getting lost in his Thoughts—just before a Blaring Alarm shot through the Air. It echoed, and soon Another, Smaller Alarm went off. The Children immediately froze, along with Gwen and David snapping back to Reality. It was an... Air Raid Siren. David and Gwen looked to eachother, expressions mixed with Horror & Realization. “. . .KIDS, GET TO THE MESS HALL, NOW!” David shouted, looking to the Campers. The Children —Terrified, mind you— Quickly heeded David’s Word and turned to the Mess Hall, Clamoring to get to Safety. The Smaller Campers were straying Behind as they ran. In the Distance, A Loud Whistling sound ripped through the Air. David’s eyes widened as he accelerated and Scooped Max and Spacekid up in his Arms, ramming into the Mess Hall’s doors. They all ran in, but David noticed Gwen was missing. He quickly realized and looked out to see Gwen getting into the Campmobile. He ran out Towards her. “GWEN! WAIT!-“ The Lanky Man Tripped over a Water Gun, hitting his Head on a Stone. He yelped in Pain, dizzied by the Impact. Black Spots filled his vision as the Whistling Sound from before Faded out for a moment, and the most Horrific Noise blasted out. .

..The Last thing David Saw before his Vision went black was the Now-Red and Orange Sky. Screams of Children and the Blast echoed as his Mind waned into nothingness.
