“I don’t know. I’ve just been having a hard time finding any inspiration.” Giving a sigh as her finger plucked at one of the ivory keys, she listened to the note resonate in the large space and gave a shake of her head. “My last album did so well with the vocals, but-… how do you write a song when nothing ever happens in your life. No one wants to listen to someone sing about award shows or like… listening to audio books while in my pyjamas.” Reaching to slide her fingers along the top of the piano for the base of her glass of wine, she lifted it to her lips and drained the remainder in one long sip. “I’ve come to realize that besides the whole piano thing, I’m actually pretty boring.”
❝ heh , ❞ lydia chuckled , grabbing her glass of scotch so nobody could put anything in it . ❝ yea , i don’t know how to help you there . i’ve been writing my own songs since i was twelve . ❞ she lifted the glass to her lips and took a dainty sip , wanting to savor it all until the last drop ... and so she could get drunk more quickly . she had gotten a call from her father , stating that her mother and he had taken a huge chunk of money from her savings to help pay the mortgage and bills . she had told him that she would see him in court because that was fucked up , and he screamed at her that that was his money , not hers , he had put it in there since she was six , how dare she talk back to him , blah blah blah . lydia could almost smell the whiskey on his breath through the phone . she had just hung up on him and headed to the pub in town , to forget about all the bullshit . ❝ anyways , i say follow your heart . hey , i’m looking for an instrument player to help me write some songs . i’ve got the lyrics all ready to go , too ! all you have to bring is your guitar or any instrument that’s carryable ! ❞ she shot a smile over at the young woman . ❝ you up for it ? ❞
