He figured that a few messages wasn't really enough to warrant a thank you, but saying that might come off as rude, right? "Nah, just a paper to finish. It's just the local university, though - there's no rush." Rummaging in his pockets for his phone to check the time anyway, sighing just a little, his gaze flickers up again. "You're looking good, though. Healthy. I guess even with the messages, I was a little concerned."

He’d caught up with the other just shy of the automatic doors, but had dutifully followed until they had the dubious privacy of the sidewalk as opposed to an entire party of second and third-year students. Give or take the occasional uni student. "I didn’t get a chance to thank you."

"Yeah. Sorry, but life's all go lately." It wasn't like he hadn't tried to say his goodbyes, but Kasamatsu had never really been the type to cause a scene where one wasn't needed - pushing through a crowd of well wishers just so say farewell seemed extreme. Switching from one foot to the other, hands sliding into his pockets, he glances at the other, top to toe. "...There's nothing to thank me for, is there?"
