I just took a two and a half week T-break after spending that time in my family’s region in Mexico for the first time. I’m back in my apartment now and it smells like it, and I’m craving the food that nobody sells in my college town. I’m having such an emotional reaction to smoking for the first time because I feel chronically nostalgic for such a recent time. I feel such a stronger connection than I ever thought I would have. I feel like I belong there, an arctic animal could never live in California and a lion could never live in Norway, so I’m starting to understand the way that I feel whole growing in my roots.
