i’m really tired of people making commentary on stuff they know nothing about, bernie said that he wants a TOP MARGINAL TAX RATE of 90% which means only if you fit in the income range of the highest earners will you be taxed that much. the people who would qualify for it currently pay less than 1% even though they make 99% of the country’s income, not to mention the fact that the top marginal tax rate has been higher in the past it was raised during wartime and under Eisenhower it was 93% so literally all that will come out of this is the wealthy no longer keeping money they don’t spend from going back into the government stop trying to act like you understand politics when youve got no clue what youre saying

Also, a thing most people don’t remember is that only money that exceeds the bracket is susceptible to the tax. So if the tax is on income above, say, 1 million dollars, and you make a million and one, only that last dollar is taxed at the higher rate.

I feel like folks making a million (or 500k or wherever the brackets are set) probably aren’t gonna starve if they don’t get all of their *second* million too.
