Sam had to do a double take, not recognizing Ash at first, and then tried not to notice the top of it. Oh god. This was a bad idea… did she have the wrong idea? Shit. He cleared his throat and forced a smile. “Ash, hey, glad you could, uh, make it,” he chuckled, trying not to be too obvious that he was uncomfortable. If only he knew what awaited them inside. “Ready to go in?” he asked, raising an eyebrow, and gesturing toward the door. After she started walking, he’d fall into step next to her. “Did you have a problem finding the place?” Now he was just talking to try and get over this awkwardness he felt. 

“Well thank you for the invite,” Aislinn replied to his chuckle, wondering whether he was a little unsure of her dress. She had to admit it was a little risque but given all the rumours about Elysium she didn’t think she’d feel out of place at all. “I’m ready if you are,” she responded before following his gesture and walking towards the doors. “No I didn’t,” Ash assured, “Wasn’t ever going to be a problem really given how much this party has been talked about by my sisters recently. They’ve all been desperate to get an invite.”

Sam had ended up with two tickets to this event and knew that he’d be too lazy to find a date, so, when one of his favorite students popped by for a chat, well, he gave her one. He meant it in a friendly way, nothing more or less, but still, it’d be fun to have someone to chat with. He parked and made his way outside the hotel entrance. Tey’d decided to meet there, figuring that would be easiest, and he rocked back and forth on his heels as he waited. Sure, he wore a suit and a mask, but that was as dressed up as he got. He watched as others in more ornate costumes went inside and let out a low whistle. He had no idea what they were in for.

This opening party had to be one of the biggest events in Chicago this year so when her professor offered her a ticket how could she say no? Sure if she really wanted she could’ve git her parents to get one but knowing she got it because of her and not them was great. Her mother had still insisted on sending her big sister down to take her dress shopping but hey ho, she couldn’t have it all her own way. Whatever happened tonight though, Ash felt like a princess in her gown and mask, hair slicked back into a low ponytail. The student flashed a smile at her favourite teacher as she arrived. “Hello professor.”
