so i was talking to my friend about ep 1 of the sandman, i said that dream was powered by spite all through that episode.

which is all well and good except i didn’t type spite. my phone autocorrected to SPRITE.

Thinking about Dream, in the cage, learning current events from snippets of convos between the guards. Like when humans made it into space, made it to the moon, and being sad to have heard about it this way. Had he not been captured he would've more directly inspired the dreams that made it happen, would've overseen millions of young dreamers after the fact, all so inspired by that accomplishment. But had he been free, it would've been Hob that excitedly told him about it at their next meeting. That he was absolutely going to show up for. It would've been Hob that shared the wonder and amazement with him instead of overhearing two guards killing time on an 8 hour shift.

Hob should know better than to get into the Shakespeare Conversation when he doesn't have at least a good half hour to properly - accurately! - mock his memory. Now he's late to class, his coffee is cold, and Dream is certainly very unimpressed with him.
