One thing I really like about writing for Tenna and Patience is that it gives me the opportunity to draw upon my own relationship-related trauma, and I find it very healing and affirming. Upon falling in love again, I found that even nice things, kind gestures, consistency and stability, could be upsetting for me, mourning the version of myself that didn't have those things before, and borrowing grief from a possible future where I may lose them again. In particular in this comic, the panel of Tenna's hand reaching towards a Patience with black hair in a red and white suit (affectionately named Spatience), represents the blur between the good thing in front of you and how your trauma may make you feel about it. |ko-fi|commissions|
