“It’s probably better if you don’t remember! I don’t think it must’ve been good,” Ashton assured Elan, and looked away for a few seconds, before returning to focus on him. “Bruno? Oh, the dog! Yeah. Well, I’m glad she likes him. Maybe now you two can move in together with her.”

“I wouldn’t tell him. I don’t tell him anything. We don’t really talk unless he is telling me to do something really.” he admitted. “So how did you two meet?”

“Okay. Well, maybe tell him, but when you run off with her. That oughta be interesting to watch, I suppose,” he responded, grinning widely. He liked the idea because he knew that he would hardly ever talk against his own father, but Elan could, right? “I don’t remember. Somewhere in town, probably. Not a big deal, as far as I recall.”

Robin was sad that the other man stopped his laugh. It was very cute. “And romance novels huh? What, the stories with the daring young men saving the women from all kinds of peril? Or different kinds?”

“Yeah! Well, no, not just that. I mean, I suppose they’re good, but I like... Unexpected things, you know? To find something new in every story,” he responded, rubbing the back of his neck. “I’m... Well, I guess I think about romance too much. Do you like any books...?”

“What do you like to read?” Robin asked smiling “And I remember music lessons as a child. I tried the flute, but they finally discovered that I was only good at the triangle. So I’m sure you’re better than I am.”

Ashton chuckled at the triangle comment, snorting once before quieting down his laugh, blushing a tad at it. “Uh. Romance novels, mostly. And lately... Well, that sort of book I was reading before about being a nicer person. But mostly romance novels!”

“Well,” Robin said thinking a bit “I like archery. I like it a lot, if you couldn’t tell by the fact that I’m carrying on. What about you?”

“Oh! Uh... I don’t do a lot of things,” Ashton replied, always finding difficulty when asked such things. “I like to read some stuff. And I play the flute, and I also sing, but I’m not very good, but I guess I like it.”

“I really like her optimism. You two met then?” he said with a little chuckle of his own. IT was sort of strange discussing his relationship but a good strange. It was nice having someone else to confide in besides Bruno.

“Well, if you say so. I’m glad you like her, I guess,” Ashton responded. He didn’t really like being around people as optimist as Mikki for long, for some reason, but she did seem to fit in with Elan. “Just don’t tell Father about her.”

“No…But I think he’s the only one who could help. And I’ve already tried him again,” Robin said “But um…well let’s talk about something else alright?”

“Oh! Uh... Of course! Sorry I asked about that,” Ashton replied, assuming that it wasn’t good to talk about topics that made one’s date uncomfortable on the first date. “What’s your favorite thing to do?” he asked after some consideration.

“Then don’t do it,” Ashton said with a nod. “Not with him, I mean! Ifhe’s gonna be stupid about it, just do it your own way. Or ask for help with someone else. He’s not the only magic person around, is he?”

“I….well, I asked him to make something clear. But I did not agree on his price. So we did not make a deal,” Robin said looking down at the coffee. “It is in the past and I cannot change it now.”

“Oh. Okay. He sounds like an ass,” Ashton responded quite frankly, before taking a sip of his drink and shrugging. “Uh... You can’t change the past, but maybe you can still get whatever you want cleared up, you know?”

Elans eyes widened and he laughed. “You have already met her I think. Mikki. No she isn’t a princess but I don’t think Darren wants me having a girlfriend anyway princess or not.” He said. “Thank you. I appreciate that really. Nah hat face doesn’t need to know anything.” He smirked.

Ashton raised a brow at the mention of Mikki. He would have expected anyone else, really, but he let out a chuckle either way. “Mikki? She’s sort of annoying sometimes, what with being all happy about everything all day,” he said, before nodding. “Yep! Definitely fits you.”

Robin noticed the awkwardness and was searching for things to talk about when Ashton first broached the subject. “Oh..I love the town. It’s wonderful. One of my favorite places I have every been. And yes, I did come for the sorcerer, but he was unable to help me like I thought he would be able to.”

“Oh! You asked him for something?!” Ashton exclaimed, tilting his head, as curiosity took him over. “What was it?” he asked again, before shaking his head and recalling what he was trying to do in the first place. “I mean... Never mind. I mean, you can talk to me about it if you want, but you don’t have to.”

Elan bit his tongue repressing the laugh and offered his hand but ashton was already back up in seconds. “So you were saying.” He grinned. “I don’t think anyone has called you stupid.” He shoved his hands in his coat pockets. “I.. Yeah I mean I wasn’t… I didn’t know I was going to be missing. We just started talking and there was no way I could have snuck in at that hour. I lost time talking with her about stuff. She offered me to stay with her for the night and I don’t know I really like being with her.”

Ashton nodded, glad to have gotten it right. “Okay! Well, who is it?” he asked, excited to know. “Tell me, tell me! She’s not a princess, is she? Otherwise, Darren’d get mad at you. I’m not telling him though. Hat face doesn’t deserve to know.”

Elan bit back his grin and nodded. He looked behind him expecting lord tremayne to appear behind him. He whipped his head back with a raised eyebrow and struggled for words. “W-what makes you think that?”

Ashton grinned mischievously as he began walking backwards, to face Elan while he spoke. “Well, Elan. Let’s just say I’m not as stupid as people think,” he declared, before proceeding to tripping over a rock and falling on his bum. He stood back up quickly and cursed under his breath, before regaining his posture. “...As people think. The other day when you were just mysteriously missing, it was because of her, right? Maybe him, but I’m leaning more towards them being a girl.”

“I think so. I guess if I ever have to for some reason I would but probably not.” he said furrowing his eyebrows in thought. He shrugged at Ashtons response and nodded. “Okay.” he smiled. He was rather relaxed with Ashton more so than he used to be, before he was of course but there was always that part of him that was ever on guard. Elan wasn’t feeling that part of him now and hoped it would continue to stay that way so they could enjoy each others company. “I dont know, but im sort of okay with not knowing.” he admitted biting his lip a little as his voice lowered . “We should probably try to find them though.” he said.

He didnt expect Lord Tremayne to wander that far ahead but Darren must have been keen on something.

Ashton shrugged. “Fair enough!” he exclaimed, before looking around. “I don’t wanna find them, they’re annoying,” he declared. “We can make our way back home now. Meanwhile, you can tell me about your girlfriend, because I don’t know who it is yet and there’s obviously one,” the stepbrother said, deciding to give in to curiosity.

“Of course, now we can sit,” Robin said smiling and walked to one of the tables and sat in one of the very comfy chairs.

Ashton took his seat across from Rowan and smiled, patting his fingertips on the side of the coffee mug. Then he realized he had nothing to talk about. “Date subjects...” he mumbled, before looking back at Rowan and forcing a smile. “How do you like town? Did you come here for the sorcerer, like the others?”
