depression sucks. literally sucks the life out of you. it's hard to want to do anything and it's killing me. this is not how i was 6 months ago. even 2 years ago before things went downhill. need to get my mind right again but it's so hard.

That song is really about technology and live music. I see so many musicians and “artists” onstage and the laptop is doing all the work. Live music is my favorite thing in the world and the more I see laptops onstage, the less I trust live music. What is that laptop doing? Which sounds are coming out of that laptop? It’s like the player piano, you know? Back in the day when the player piano came through town, you could just like pedal through it and it would do all the work. As a live musician, as somebody who loves live music and believes that’s one of the greatest forms of communication, to see a computer do all the work and to really have no human element involved with the live aspect of it, it really just breaks my heart.
