Yup! I did a thing. :) I'll stain the shelves once it's a little less hurricaney outside. #ImSoHandy #booksfordays https://www.instagram.com/p/BnZUbfMnEMa/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=qd9ghh0ahzj2
God Bless Veneida Smith.
So this whole thing started with this tweet. I started plowing through newspapers to find every mention of her - and found most that were out there, but a man named Todd Sanders, who had access to Pennsylvania libraries, found quite a few more. All of this takes place in October and November of 1922, before timeskipping to September 1923 (her third escape), October 1923 (her guilty verdict), and March 1924 (her escape attempt with Roxie Starcher).
I have been unable to find her obituary or anything else out there about my new hero.
I though this couldn’t get any better from when I first saw it but now it involves the supernatural.
If only we all could be a little like Veneida Smith!
Editing magic happening today. My favorite typo so far. lol
Pure paradise.
Another day, another dollar.... being spent.
Tag renewal, purses, and writing. I think that I need a Friday to recoup from my Friday.
World building, third-person POV, and love?
So anyone who has read my other works knows that I’m a first-person POV writer. But there’s no time like the present to learn something new and change that. I’ve been working on a project for a while in third-person POV and I’m loving it! The world building is amazingly entertaining, seeing in the minds of more than one character at a time is addicting and this love story?! Let’s just say that this love story is one for the books for sure!
Birthday weekend for the Middle Child.
Seems like a good time to be as unproductive as I can and eat all the carbs! :D Happy Birthday A! :D
Writing’s hard when some people don’t cooperate.
When your characters seem to have different ideas on paper than they did in your mind. I’m not even sure how I’m keeping up with this craziness at the moment. I have people traveling, some escaping, some getting caught, and everyone seems to want to fall in love, but don’t want to fall in love at the same time.
Camp Nano and The Unnamed Monstrosity.
Camp Nano is here and so is The Unnamed Monstrosity! This is happening people! Ashton Wilson in the realm of fantasy. It’s oddly working out really well! I can’t wait to share this story with everyone else! It’s probably my most favorite thing that I’ve done so far!
The morphing of men (and women).
It’s always interesting as your characters start to develop beyond what you imagined they would. Just like real people, you know when really like them! In the real world, the two of you would be the best of friends, coffee dates, and window shopping. On the flip side, you have those that you know if they were in the real world you absolutely not be able to stand them, and most of the time the feeling is mutual. They would be the one that sneers at you in the hallway and leaves nasty messages in your inbox just to get a rise out of you. Trying to write these characters can make your skin crawl, but also reassures you that you’re doing something right. Characters grow, and sometimes they’re assholes... and that is all right.
The Mysterious Melvin [Ashton Wilson] on Amazon.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Melvin is a little garden snake who's a failure at gardening. He can't even grow grass on the ground and none of the other snakes can understand why he's so different. He decides to leave the park where he's always lived
It’s available!!! I’m so excited that this project is finished and out there. I’m thinking that Melvin is my favorite character at the moment! Such a sweet little guy!
