I figured it would be best to formally close this blog. A lot of things can change in a year, and I think it is time to officially say goodbye. I had a lot of fun running this blog, I learnt a lot. and my art improved (suprisingly!?) I kept trying to think of ways to keep this blog going, but to be honest, my heart just wasn't quite in it. All good things come to an end, eventually, but I am really thankful for all the happy and fun experiences I had while running this blog. It really got me out of my shell, and cheered me up during rough times. I'm not going to delete the blog, so if you ever feel like visiting, the door's always open. And of course, you can always check out my main art blog @backwardd, where I actually post! Farewell!

“Forward, said granny in the snow.” A Finnish phrase of determination.

It’s a nice afternoon to-day, and I want to share some thoughts that have been eating away at me for some time, which regards the state of my ask blog.

I am not trying to say any of this in an attention seeking way. However, I feel like the engagement with my posts is not very good in relation to the amount of followers on this blog.

By no means did I start this blog because of numbers. I hopped on the badly drawn “trend” because it had been my dream for a long time to run my own ask blog. I thought it was a good opportunity because I wouldn’t have to put a lot of time/effort into things, as a major issue for me was drawing characters consistently. Honestly I wasn’t expecting my blog to be so well received and it made me feel like a million dollars! I felt so happy that there were people who liked and interacted with me in the beginning.

As time wore on, a lot of the badly drawn blogs disappeared, which made me sad as I really enjoyed their content/style. I have learnt a lot so far about running a blog, like how hard it is to post consistently! I also realised that I put more effort into posts as my blog got older. (I’m not sure this blog still really qualifies as “badly drawn” anymore???) I thought it would be nice to give a little background with these thoughts.

I really wanted to say that even if only one person likes my blog, I’ll still continue it. I started this blog because I wanted to, and the fact that a few others like it helps me to keep it up. It has been such a great experience and I would be sad if I abandoned the blog, as it still brings me a lot of joy. Blog engagement is in a rut, but I’m digging it out! Maybe I should change the username? Are there other ways to rebrand? These are questions I am considering.

I'm not always good at putting my thoughts into words, so I hope all of this made sense.
