Daddy's absence
askneferadenile
Left alone in her room for the night, Cleo shuddered. It was as though, somewhere in the palace, Nefera was laughing. Evilly laughing. The younger of the two sisters couldn’t hear it, but somehow, she just knew.
She lifted a cucumber from one eye, just to check that the older princess’ plans didn’t have anything to do with her, before replacing it and returning to enjoying the facial treatment she had finally received. In the morning, she would awaken clean and refreshed, and ready for her first appointment... and more importantly, her date.
She doubted she would be able to say the same about Nefera.

Cleo pushed her way to the front of the crowd of servants that had gathered around her sister, ready to confront the older princess for disappearing for so long without telling anyone where she was going, or if and when she was going to be back. “Well, well, look what Bastet dragged in. If you’re done making everyone worry for your well-being, I’ll take a few of the servants along with me to worry about mine, mmkay?”
Well, close enough.
Nefera laughed darkly, before putting on the voice she liked to annoy her little sister with. “Aww, Baby Cleo can’t stand being too long without attention, can she?” Nefera put on a last fake smile.
She then marched into the kitchen, a proud look on her face. “So, my food is cold by now, I guess? Ah! Too bad. Then I am probably forced to go up to my room and…” she charmingly headed to the stairs, “…skip dinner.”
Skip dinner, wake up thinner! No?
Nefera would have really gone up if it was not for the group of servants pulling her down. The princess couldn’t skip a meal! Her father had forbidden it!
Cleo didn’t bother trying to hide her smirk as she watched Nefera practically being force-fed by the servants. “Awww, doesn’t poor Neffie want to eat? But it’s yummy!” she said mockingly, baby-talking to her sister as Nefera often did to her “Go on, be a good little princess and try some - here comes the barge, down the Nile Delta~~”
“ARGGGGHHHH!”
Two windows nearby broke and at least five babies in the neighborhood started to cry.
Nefera turned away, not willing to eat at all. “Get away from me or I will call my lawyers!” She yelled at her servants, before getting up from the chair, not a single bite of food in her stomach.
“And you, you disappointment!” She pushed Cleo away. “Dare to insult me again and I will throw you out from my balcony, you failure! You are fat and- and ugly! And envious! And-”
Her arm was grabbed by a servant. “LET GO OF ME!” She yelled angrily.
“I’m sure your therapist will be thrilled to hear all of your thoughts on me tomorrow, sister. Make sure to include the fact that you broke my collar bone while they’re trying to figure out how crazy you are.” It was a good thing Nefera was restrained. Cleo probably wouldn’t have been brave enough to retort with anything else otherwise.
“Think you are brave?! Pft. I am in the lead here, you little mistake!”
She turned to the waiting servants. “I want Cleo to be taken out of the room now. She is annoying me with her stupidity and hurting me with her endless ugliness. Do as I say or I will call my father!”
One of the servants spoke up, telling Nefera that they could call Ramses as well and tell him that his daughter was not willing to eat.
“I AM willing to eat! I just don’t have an appetite when Cleo is there. Her birth was a mistake and I want her to leave!” Nefera answered angrily, acting like her sister was not in the room.
A servant walked towards the younger princess, giving her an ‘Alright, let’s get out of here’ glance.
It was for the better, really…
Cleo turned on her heels with a ‘hmmph’ and marched out of the room, followed by a number of servants who blocked her from Nefera’s view as they left in order to not further aggravate the eyes of their crown princess.
“Who does my sister think she is?” Cleo ranted to the servants as they herded her through the halls “And who does she think she’s kidding? We all know she isn’t going to eat a thing even with me gone!”

I would apologise for being so absent lately,
BUT
Obviously you all understand that I do in fact have an unlife offline, and that I, of course, have to make sure I’m giving the people what they want.
Which is why I know you will also welcome me back with open arms for whatever amount of time it is that I am on here.
