Name: Dr. Noah Olsen

Gender: Male

Age: ~45

Profession: Behavioral Specialist (or smth like that idk) at Playtime Co

Dr. Olsen did not personally know any of the children or a lot of his coworkers, but he did know the experiments. He tried his best to be kind to them, though he tended to be a bystander rather than trying to stop any experiments or abuse for fear of retaliation.

In his universe, he’s the protagonist of the game. He is very much traumatized by the hour of joy, and has become a bit of a nervous wreck. He is nonetheless determined to come back and help… well, someone. It’s not clear on who. (He and I know who he’s back for, of course, but the other characters don’t)

He is genuinely very sweet and wants to do the right thing, but his cowardice proved fatal to that while he still had the chance to at least try to stop what was happening.

"I don't think I've been okay since I started working here." she admitted, managing enough energy for a small smile. "But, that's neither here nor there at this point. Please don't worry about me. But you, Doctor, how are you? Gentle souls like yourself were probably hit the hardest by what's happened."

Truthfully, I’m not sure… I came back here wanting to fix things, but that… other person has already gone through so much of this place, so… so many of them. I don’t know what to do.

She gave a thought as she looked out the window, peering down into the near endless caverns below.

"Perhaps if we're fast, we can beat the lot of them to the Better Place and see who we can set free. But I doubt it, the Prototype would kill us for breathing in its direction."

…I’m worried. I don’t think they’re a bad person, but what if the but— ang— whatever just winds up killing and killing and killing to get there?

She carefully raised her head to the ceiling to look up, it made her neck hurt.

"If anything, we could try ushering survivors to the upper levels. It would be safer now, but who knows. It might draw his attention. It seems no matter what we do now, death is inevitable."

in the middle of Dawko’s chapter 5, this is probably the first chapter that’s been unsettling to me aside from “oh that’s creepy I don’t like looking at it”. Like it’s not creepy visually but it’s so fucked up. This is probably the first time it’s legitimately caused me a feeling of “holy fuck this is wrong I want this to stop”.

In any case, I probably have a couple of years left in me." The little Bobby whined hearing that, hugging onto Dr. Gemma tightly. Dr. Gemma lightly hugged the little bear back. "But I promise to stay alive long enough to see this through. I'm not in danger of dropping dead anytime soon."

She managed a smile, but it was tired. Years of being strong for others were finally showing itself.

(Nods, but his brow is still furrowed with concern)

"My main concern is securing places for toys to go. All of this is pointless conjecture if there's no safe place to stay." She turned her eye up to the Poppy doll on Kissy's shoulder. "Poppy, how many toys would you say need help in the Safe Haven?"

"Last I checked, there were at fifty. It might be... less." she added the last word sadly. Dr. Nightingale nodded sadly at that.

"Playcare can house them. The school should have some remnants of food and medical supplies, and there should be those medical supplies I mentioned under the Playhouse. Where should we start? The Playhouse has the most toys, though most of them are feral at this point. There's just the one Ms. Delight in the school where the most supplies would be. And then there's..."

A shadow passed over the open doorway, and then left. The faint smell of poppy flowers wafted in from outside, the scent of the red smoke.

"...perhaps securing Playcare is conjecture in itself with Catnap stalking us. Maybe we should split up our forces, tackle one part of Playcare at a time. Who wants to take what?"

Then she gave a frustrated sigh.

"But a food supply won't be a problem if our goal is to leave. Unless we're using food as a bargaining chip for the lower levels?"

Well, do we have any trucks that have, like, the big box things? So we can sneak everyone out?

Not trucks, per se, but I can definitely drive.

But there has to be some big box place nearby where we can steal a truck, but you would probably have to get there on foot. Dr. Nightingale gave a sigh of frustration, pain starting to set in, and feeling tired.

"Is there anything else we need to think about? I think we have about three minutes before Catnap gets bored and barges in."

"Oh, duh!" She started to laugh, which quickly started a coughing fit. The little Bobby in her lap whined in distress, quickly moving to the back of Dr. Nightingale's chair to get something for her pain.

..Are you sick?

"No." Dr. Nightingale sighed, settling back into her chair as the little Bobby gave her a single ibuprofen. "Overexposure to the red smoke can damage the lungs, it's hard for me to sleep through the pain." She swallowed the pill dry with a hard gulp. "On top of... well, everything else." She waved her single hand dismissively up and down her form.

"Speaking of which, we should get moving. We can talk escape plans and long term stays after securing Playcare. There should be more medical supplies for the toys and myself in the school." She thought for another moment, weighing options. "...the containment levels below the Playhouse might have medical supplies too, but that area is far too dangerous to walk into."

…Are you going to die without these supplies?

"Well, here's one coworker," Dr. Gemma chirped, holding her hand up, "alive, and not-very-well. There's only one other, and we don't talk about him. So, here's what I propose. Playcare has the most room to accommodate all surviving toys, as well as the clearest shot to the exit. We should gather anyone we find here."

"There's at least two or three problems with that." Poppy interjected, looking back to the open door of the control room. "One of them is stalking us outside." Kissy's heckles raised at the thought of getting into a fight. Dr. Gemma waved a hand in dismissiveness over their fears.

"I know Catnap's hunting patterns, it's not time for him to strike yet. So, let's do what we can until then. We should get other toys on our side before confronting him." She thought for a moment. "There's a Ms. Delight still in the school. Catnap mostly leaves that place alone, and it's where most of our medical supplies are being stored." She looked up to Noah. "Ms. Delight might be easier to bring to our side than the others. Think you can handle her? I don't know which one she is, but she's not Ms. Brooks or Ms. Band-Aid. So I can't predict how she'll act."

Wait. Once we get them to Playcare, what are we supposed to do? I don’t know if we could get them out of the factory, and if we leave them here there still won’t be enough food for them.

"Then, what is your plan, Dr. Olsen?" Dr. Gemma asks, with a tired look in her eye. "You came back to save us, so what did you intend to do?"

Watching him shrink away, Dr. Gemma closed her eye and sat back in her chair quietly. Poppy looked between the two before deciding to speak.

"We should focus on one thing at a time." the little doll proposed. "But Dr. Nightingale is, in a way, right. Having Playcare as a stronghold would be best for the surviving toys in the factory. We should start securing it and gaining allies." She looked down to Dr. Gemma. "Who... is still here?"

Dr. Nightingale opened her eye to give a hateful glare to Poppy, but bit back her hatred for now.

"There's one Ms. Delight in the school. The Playhouse is infested with feral toys, at least twenty. I have my nurse Bobby here..." And she drew in a bitter sigh, remembering those whom she lost. "...and then there's Catnap. All the other BBI Smiling Critters are dead." Kissy looked distressed at the thought.

"...even Dogday?" Poppy timidly asked.

"Especially Dogday." Dr. Gemma snarled, finally turning away. "But no use lingering on the dead, we should focus on the living."

Are there any bigger bodies Nightmare Critters? (Suddenly looks a bit distressed)

"Not in Playcare." Dr. Gemma shook her head. "Catnap has seen to that. Baba might still be alive in the lower levels, but nothing has crawled up from there in years."

"There's more survivors in the lower levels. Noah, I'll go down with you to look for them. Everything will be okay."

What are we supposed to do once we find them, Poppy? Where should they go?

"We can bring them here." Poppy insisted. "It's... going to be tough. To bring them all here, but with your help, I think we can do it."

"Playcare needs to be a safe place for them to go first." Dr. Nightingale insisted.

There’s still the issue of food.
