How were Laura and Katherine like at the garrison

Lol, um, about what one would expect:

Kat reluctantly pulling all-nighters some days just to get her workload done (Mostly for Shiro’s sake), and Laura just generally being the most social procrastinator you can find; that’s not to say her grades were awful, but she definitely had enough confidence in her piloting skills to think they could pull her through the Garrison, even without having such a focus on the actual schoolwork.

A lot of the reason Katherine didn’t even notice the whole “rivalry” thing Laura thought was going on between them was just because of how generally exhausted she was throughout most of her time at the Garrison; not really paying attention to anything besides the academics was really an energy-saving measure.

I know that saving the world has been pretty tough on you two and the rest of the team, but what are some of your favorite missions?

Laura: Oh man, my favorites have to be the ones where we get to kick ass on some pretty awesome planets. Just a while ago we met some cool-looking aliens, i think they started with a “W” or somethin’, and after saving their tribes from the Galra they threw us a big party with lots of food, music, and even cute animals! They offered to let me keep one, but Alfor told me that Kultenecker eats enough of our food as is…

Katherine: Eh, i guess i prefer missions where we get to infiltrate Galra bases or take down fleets in our lions; i prefer the combat-oriented missions a lot more than the…festive aftermath.

Laura: I can show you some pictures i took from some of our missions, if you’re interested!!

((also, for any of you that are confused, I switched Alfor and Allura’s names in this AU; Alfor is the last Altean prince that survived the extinction of his race, and Allura was his mom who piloted the Red Lion. If you don’t like this, or think it’s a little too confusing, i’d be happy to consider any alternative names or ideas you guys suggest!))

not to be rude, I'm honestly not trying to send hate and I know you don't mean anything malicious by making this blog, but the concept of genderbending is transphobic in many aspects. I know you probably already put a lot of effort into this blog already but its,,, nasty and hurtful

Really? I've never connotated genderbends necessarily with trans; the characters that are being portrayed are cis-females in a completely alternate universe from their canon male counterparts. If the characters being represented were "male-to-female" transformations, or males cosplaying as females and portraying bigoted representations of trans women, then I'd see the potential arguement to be made. However, in case it did need clarification, the genderbends on this blog are cis-women with no knowledge or experience with ever having anything other than female gender indentities.I'm sorry if I miscommunicated my intentions with these characters and their genders and what I intended for this blog, and I don't think you're being purposely negative or argumentative, but I can't sincerely agree that portraying these characters is necessarily transphobic.If you'd like to discuss things further with me via messaging i'd be happy to engage in a civil discussion, or if you're someone else willing to lend a different perspective to the situation it'd be greatly appreciated, but for now I'm doing anything wrong by keeping this blog up as it is currently.Thank you for expressing your wholehearted concern and I hope you can see where I'm coming from; I know the topic of transgenderism and transphobia is a touchy subject.

Official Rules Post

Basics

1. This blog is primarily centered around Klance, but other paladins will be featured upon request, just not with the same level of frequency as those two specifically :D

2. This blog will keep pace with the canon material as best i can; i don’t read the comics, but if there’s any details from the comics you feel could contribute to the blog in any way, feel free to keep me posted! Currently, this AU is kept up to pace with all of the events in: Season 3

3. Try to avoid asks that request responses from ALL of the paladins specifically, though if you do, i won’t ignore the request! Just expect that some will not be drawn and will instead answer through text format.

5. I’m the only one managing this blog at the moment, so any OOC responses/questions/requests can be directed towards me. No need to feel shy if you’re curious about something :)

Most followers have just called me “Mun” in the past, but if you’re curious of what else you can call me, just “Tessa” or “Tess” will do. If you’d rather call me something else, or would prefer to use certain pronouns, i honestly don't mind; this blog exists to cater to you guys, so just do whatever makes you comfortable. With that:

NO Shaladin Discourse - Even though this is obviously a Klance-centric blog, and i don't personally ship any Shaladin ships, there will be absolutely no hate directed towards the ones who do ship them! I’m trying to maintain a blog where people can ship in peace and enjoy the same characters, and it’d be nice if i had your guys’ cooperation in achieving that. Please and Thank You!

Types of Posts

Standard asks and submissions of all types will be taken, and there will also be other more specialized requests that i’ll do; such as:

AU Prompt - provide an AU scenario and i’ll draw art for it, give a little background, and provide my opinion (because i’m a sucker for AU’s, they make me weak). I might occasionally drop a fic rec or two in there if i’m tempted, because promoting writers and sharing their work gives me strength <3 (Because these are relatively more elaborate, these will definitely be less frequent than others)

Magic!Anons (M!A) - Anons submit a change that will be made to the specified character(s) for a set amount of asks (Might not set them to the character(s) as soon as i get them, especially if one’s already active, but that doesn’t mean i won’t get around to them eventually)

Events - In case of a holiday, birthday, etc, i will announce what’s upcoming and how the paladins are preparing for it.

A small reference for how Laura and Kat will be poratrayed on this blog; for the most part their basic information (birthday, ages, key physical traits, confirmed backstory, etc.) will be kept the same as their canon counterparts, but there will be stuff that will be interpreted differently and stuff that’s tweaked (like their height difference is definitely going to be something that’s gonna be exaggerated on my part more and more as i get used to drawing them) and since Voltron obviously isn’t finished, this AU will probably try and keep pace with the canon timeline and where it is at the time of posting.

So yeah, Kat is still the half-galra leader of Voltron in this AU, and Laura is still the Second-in-command, cool ninja sharpshooter pilot of the red lion.

Currently, they aren’t any more romantically involved with one another as their canon counterparts are, but since it is a Klance-blog they do obviously have underlying feelings that will be extrapolated on as we go along XD

Don’t know how far we’re going to take this thing, but it’s definitely going to be at least somewhat wish-fulfillment, so buckle up for that
