WARNING: LONG post, bnha spoilers, this “theory” may not be accurate, or completely incorrect! (im going explain this using logic/common sense)
i have an idea regarding himiko’s design and her actions. i understand we do not have enough info of her though! but, you can see that one of her pockets contains keychains:
and in the chapter, “Encounter,” The broker tells Tomura that Himiko is a suspect on the run for serial blood draining murders, this shows that Himiko probably took the deceased people’s phones and take the key chains if they have one. Himiko was probably obsessed with making friends, mostly for love/affection, including her attempt to befriend Tsuyu Asui and Uraraka Ochako in the battle. People usually give keychains to show kindness and speical friendship/bond.
You might jump in and say, “what about Mr. Stain’s ideas that she was crazy about?!”
Let’s hold this question for now. As you read the dialogues of Himiko, she mentioned that she wanted to make the world easier place to live in. She may be talking about how hard to have a nice, social life. and that’s where Mr. Stain’s ideology jumps in and explains that the “Heroes” of the modern world are fakes who pretend to be Heroes.
To me, her ides of living easier life and the Fake Heroes ideology seems connected, because if you take a look at Bakugou and Deku as little children, you can see that Bakugou is surrounded by kids because they think that he is cool and his explosive quirk is really awesome. He became popular school for his quirk. As you look into Deku’s story, he basically a lonely nerd, obseesed with heroes and All Might with notebooks, (before All Might revealed his secret and gave to Deku). It is obvious that Deku has no friends because he was Quirkless and was targeted for the insults, etc..
Not just being Quirkless, it is also for people who has quirks and used them for evil. As kids gets their quirks in elementary school, they receive Quirk counseling. The goal is to make sure that the children don’t get the idea that they can do whatever they want; this is done to prevent children from abusing their Quirks and becoming evil as a result, like Tomura.
Many kids who has quirks, may be befriending with one another based on how “cool” their quirks are. But, sometimes, if the people with quirks appears to be “villain-like” or quirkless, kids tends to isolate them from groups. If you have friends, you can have someone to help you if you needed help with tests, quizzes, emotional support, dates, and all sorts, right?
If you think carefully, and connect the dots, Himiko is implying that in her life, she may not have friends because of her terrifying quirk. And, she may watch people smiling and laughing at jokes, exchange gifts (such as keychains!) She feels like it is challenging to communicate and create friendships. it could be possible she was bullied by other people. She attempts to make her life “eaiser” by causing murders to occur. (Either killing the bullies, people that she is jealous of, fake friends, and even her loved ones!)
Phew! That was long post, sorry folks! I can not help but analyzing what Himiko’s intentions are because I am just a nerd mun of this ask blog with Himiko! Thank you for reading this thing called “theory….”
MatPat voice// It is just a Himiko Theory. A Himiko Theory!
EDIT 1: I forgot to add more infomation of why Himiko wants to be Mr. Stainy:
Everyone knows that Stain became notoriously famous for his murders. Why did he murder Pro Heroes? He wants to raise awareness about his ideology that Heroes are fake heroes who are not worthy to become the actual heroes, and bring True Heroes to appear when murders happened. Despite being a villain, he wanted to change the flaw system of Heroes and purge it.
For Himiko: She did wanted to be Mr. Stainy - this show hints that she may admire Stain’s actions of trying to change the flaw system, and his ideology about fake Heroes. Earlier, I mentioned that Himiko stated the reason why she wants to be Mr. Stainy to Tomura because she wanted a world a simple place to live in.
In my point of view, Himiko wanted to change the world because she believes that people who become Heroes, so they can be closer to the actual Pro Heroes for fame/attention. She thinks that fake Heroes are fake friends if Pro Heroes consider them as a friend.
Fake friends can give you a wrong hope - you think you can be rescued by friends who talks to you, and etc..But, instead they probably run away from you, ignore you, and only cares about who you are on the outside.
For example: friends will watch you being beaten up by stronger people, and they will run away - fearing that they will be end up being beaten up like you.
“Wait a min, Ibuki..Then why she joined the Vanguard squad just to kill All Might?!”
After reading the manga, I would believe that Himiko wants to kill All Might because she thinks that he is the source of the problem that she sees: people becoming heroes for such these greedy things. If she kills All Might, she could “help” humans to befriend one another despite how cool or terrifying quirks they have, and avoid people becoming Heroes even they are not worthy of becoming one, just for fame/money/attention by getting close to actual Herores and make an attempt to be a friend of a real Pro Hero.
Both, HIMIKO TOGA and STAIN wanted to make a change. They both believe the society is corrupted and bring out the attention by murdering people.
EDIT 2: LOVE/AFFECTION EXPLAINATION:
Why is Himiko so desperate for love/affection?
Usually parents or family members are there for love/affection, but…there are possibilities of…
Parents/Family members are really busy to be there for Himiko..Hinting that she may be an only child.
Parents/Family abuses Himiko
The parents/family may have died due to accidents or being killed by Villains or Himiko herself
If that’s the case that she did not have family love, then she could haveeither old friends, bullies or ex-boyfriend (or girlfriend) treating her terribly…Then, she kills them as a killing spree….
