M!A: Nightmare

((Nightmare: Muse is plagued with horrific images and scenes both in sleeping and in waking for 3 days))

A dripping sound caught Irvin’s attention, and he raised his gaze up from the book he’d been reading to look for it’s source. Maybe a pipe had burst somewhere ? He got up to investigate, and an expression of shock marred his usually calm face as he realized blood was dripping from the ceiling, or more accurately from what appeared to be a maimed corpse, hanging there tangled in 3DMG wires.

He did not scream, but rather stared at it as his brain tried to process the gruesome view, and slowly started advancing towards it. However he had barely made a step when something tugged on his leg violently, causing him to trip and fall down. Kicking at whatever had caught him, he managed to free himself and turned back to look at it. Another corpse, this one wearing a Scouting Legion jacket, was crawling on the floor and frantically trying to grab him again.

Adrenalin now rushing through his veins, Irvin jumped on his feet and made a mad dash for the door, hoping to flee the abominations in his office…

… and woke up with a start, at his desk. Still shaken up by the nightmare, he glanced around to make sure the room was devoid of vengeful bodies, and noted with satisfaction there were none. Only then he brought his gaze down to the desk and his hands, and saw the red.

This time, he screamed.

She saw him taking his shirt. She pushed herself up and stared at him for a moment. ‘Fuck this.’ She needed something to cool her down too. She walked quickly to the lake. She took her jacket and her boots off. She dived into the cold water. She stayed a few seconds underwater. She came up for air. She took a deep breath. "Much better." She sighed. She looked at the Commander. "Are you alright?" She asked him quietly. She saw his arm over his stomach. She looked at him with a worried gaze. She swam his way. She walked out of the water. She stood besides him and looked up. "Irvin?" She said softly.

It seemed like the girl had had the same idea, and he watched her go past him and jump in the water, still clad in her shirt and pants. Well, since it was more than comfortably warm outside, it shouldn't take long for her clothes to dry when she'd get out.

It took him some more shaky steps to get to the lake, and by that time Avene had already swum around a bit. When she noticed him, though, she came over to the shore and got out of the water, looking worried.

"Ah, I'm fine..." he said, " well, as much as one can be after being sick. My stomach is hurting a bit, but the spasms should stop soon... nothing to worry about, though I thank you for your concern. However, you may want to go swim a little bit farther : I need to clean up, so the water around here risks ending up quite dirty" he added, pointing at his ruined clothes.
