Backstory (1st POV): I was born on an island that's made entirely of crystals, the people made sure everything was clean so the crystals could shine. They were welcoming to outsiders and gave them generous amounts of jewelry so that in return we could have some of their supplies. At the age of 8, I saw a large ship for the first time, I was fascinated by its structure, I've never seen wood before. I asked to sail with them, I wanted to learn more about ships. The crew were nice enough to let me sail with them for 5 years until we came to an island that built ships, there we parted ways and I went to watch people craft ships, they were called shipwrights. Day in and day out, for a year I would watch them at work, carefully observing their skills, sketching the ships and taking notes. One day a man with a square nose noticed me with my notebook as I was sketching, he smiled and asked if I wanted to be a shipwright. I nodded my head with enthusiasm, saying it was what I wanted to be. He took me under his wing, he helped me make boats then eventually small ships of my own. I trust him, I look up to him.
