He waits til the dead of night to approach Arthur's ship, with the crewmen and Richard sleeping hopefully. Sneaking his way aboard to locate the pirate, thuo he doesn't seem to be up top. Quietly he continues. like a predator hunting for it's prey, gripping onto the head of his katana, just to be safe he thought. ((sorry this took long, kuro's two personalities were clashing in mind so kinda had a block attack))
as the crew slept Arthur’s key keeper perched at the top of the sails. But didn’t notice as they elite group sneak on board. Arthur’s cabin had a heavy cloud of smoke floating about it’s rafters as he was curled in the lap of his daughter. the rooms was cleaned often but still things weren’t as Arthur would usually keep them. the books were ordered alphabetically instead of by the time they represented, the chest was neatly in a corner instead of the middle of the table. it was the little things that showed that his daughter Alex had been the one doing the clean up. Arthur was really dependent on her care at this point. The drug kept him floating peacefully without a care for food or anything else. but it wasn’t healthy, so with Alex watching over him, he was kept from reaching to low of a degraded point. lucky for Arthur self esteem he was fast asleep as Kiku came aboard. the idea of him being seen by kiku when he was this low was a nightmare.
((I was gonna draw it, but I figured I could write it better then I could draw out the emotion and scene. and it’s ok, Arthur has been basically a zombie for a long while now))
“Why would you?” arthur responded, as he moved into the chair. with the glazed over eyes arthur looked off into the distance rather then into kuro’s eyes.
richard listened carefully. taking a moment to think of how to respond he scratched at his chin. “Your right, the big boss would rather run off the face kuro right now. but that doesn’t mean he would fight. He’s more tactical then that. the only ones who would fight would be the crew.” richard pointed out as he thought of all the possible situations.
His crimson eyes narrowed, the sting of Arthur’s response he didn’t like, but it didn’t spark his anger enough to be surprised. Reminding himself of his word. Kuro approach slowly towards the pirate, each step his shoe created a slow eerie clank with the wood of the floor. “Well, it’s been sometime since our last talk, face to face. Suspicions and concerns mixed. Not only that but the girls wonder about you and miss too, asking what sort of places and treasures you’ve been finding.” He stopped in front of Arthur, giving enough space not to be too close but close enough to get his attention. “If you’re curious about them.”Â
The soldiers thought on Richard’s words, knowing only little about the captain and founded the man’s words to be puzzling. The soldier that stood silently before finally spoke and looked to Richard, standing at the same height of him. “LIttle to no fighting would be helpful in a situation of trying to make peace. Your captain surprises us though. You say he would flee than face our leader right now. What do you mean by that exactly sir?”  Â
arthur blushed lightly, or as much as his pale skin could in his condition but he turned lightly to look at kuro. “how are the little lases? how have they grown?” he asked, he was curious, what did they look like, how many years had passed, what did they like to do. they all came rushing to his head, but he didn’t word a one. he knew kuro understood the questions that arthur wanted to ask.
Richard raised a brow at the intruder. the bone knife now lowered and richard taking a more relaxed stance. “would you not flee from old relationships? or past mistakes? would you want to face someone you hurt when you feel guilty for what you did?” richard asked as he tilted his head.
Kuro noticed the pirate’s blush and blinked. Almost forgotten how amusing it was to get him to blush. Arthur’s questions stilled his chest yet at same time eased his body to relax, dropping shoulders and closing eyes as tried to find words to answer. “They are doing well, Sakura and Ella are growing to be fine young girls. Though thankfully not old enough yet for teenage years, I’m not sure how to handle that milestone yet.” He chuckled, opening eyes to look at Arthur and smiled lightly. “Sakura already has plans to be the next captain of your ship, as she says, she seems determine to join a pirates life. Ella though quite opposite, she’s more reserved and quiet than her sister. It’s interesting though, Ella shows more of your features yet she’s more intrigued with japanese culture while Sakura who vice versa has difficult time with the culture but thrives your english lifestyle and pirates more.” He paused briefly letting Arthur take what said in so far. Waiting to tell more anxiously of the kids.
The smaller soldier pondered the thought, looking up to taller partner. The other stood quietly for the moment but never took gaze off Richard, in a calmer tone he answered. “Would it not be easier to confront the mistakes? Rather than run and likely cause more? How will you know if the other has forgiven and understood, if keep on running away? I do not judge your captain, but if he feels guilt than perhaps this approach is needed, to flee, this cycle of guilt won’t end.” He crossed arms and tilted his head. “Wouldn’t you agree?”
arthur smiled at the new information. he had long stopped sending leters to the old partner of his. but the news was welcome. “I bet they are beautiful little girls.” arthur complimented as he slumped in his chair. they deserved better he thought to himself.
“I don’t pretend to understand what the boss has in mind. I am here to pay back his kindness as well as protect the crew that took me in.” Richard said with a shrug. as far as he was concerned arthur could have decided to over throw the world and he would follow without question
“Indeed they are, much so in person.” He noticed Arthur’s body behavior changed, even though he wasn’t a mind reader he could still sense something troubling. Kuro continued talking about the children, in hoping it would get Arthur to come out more easily. “The girls would love to see you, for how much they ask and wonder aloud, it would make them happy.” he remained standing in front of Arthur, remembering recent events about Sakura and Ella he would need to tell Arthur but words struggled to speak out.Â
The soldier nodded. “Fair enough, you seem like a man with honor. You must have your reasons to serve and protect your crewmen, I respect that.” The younger soldier merely stood quite listening to their partner and Richard, wondering if Kuro’s plan was successful. Thinking back of their partner’s words before.  Â
“I don’t know if seeing them would be the best idea.” Arthur said as his head looked around for his pipe.
“I do have my reasons.”richard moved closer to the intruders. “But I still don’t know your intentions more then sneaking about.”
Kuro frowned, expressing more with eyes than mouth to show. Crossing his arms and watching Arthur’s movements carefully as spoke. “And why is that?” He asked calmly, attempting so. Perhaps it was too soon to mention but he wasn't going to let Arthur flee from this.Â
“Like I said, we follow Kuro-sensei and by no means want to cause trouble. Though I suppose our “sneaking about” is hard to believe. We were told to keep watch at the most, incase things got...out of hand.” The soldier admitted. His partner though seemed more quiet to give an answer, as if hiding something.Â
