A Message To Those Blackmailing The Studio Working On Voltron: Legendary Defender.
This is getting ridiculous.
Who do you think you are, some kind of hero?
Anyone besides the original person who posted the original pictures and shared them, BY ACCIDENT, has literally no excuse to be whining and crying. This is disgusting. The studio will probably was going to release the photos of the characters later on any way. The fact that some fans are just straight up hoarding these photos and spoiling the series for themselves and their followers is really disappointing. Half of the fun of waiting for a new season of a series is theorizing, anticipating, constantly checking social media for any hints about the plot and the talks with the cast and writers and their half assed jokes and their opinions on everything.
Not to mention the fact that some people are now black mailing the studio as if you feel you are now holding them hostage and have some kind of power. You do not have any power, you are not holding them hostage and let me just clarify something for you. As far as the studio, the cast and even some of the fans are concerned, you are the enemy. You are literally the bane of their existence. I can tell you right now, everyone is frowning upon your actions. Everyone is disappointed, angry and distraught. Not one Klance shipper is proud of this, in fact a friend of mine who is a klance shipper is ashamed of himself now. For even liking the ship. Imagine that.
Forcing the studio to spontaneously write klance into the show, which is most definitely pre planed a year or two ahead of the season being released, could result in one or two scenarios depending on your actions from this point forward. If you continue to hold these photos and insist upon your “precious” ship being canon then they could cancel the show and sue you and the who mistakenly posted these photos on tumblr for everything you are worth and more and cancel the show, leaving many people without jobs and further ruining the original poster’s career, spoiling the fun for millions of people worldwide.
Or, you can delete the photos and we can go on with our lives as if this didn’t happen.
Now as a shipper, I can tell you I understand where you are coming from. You want it to be canon. You want your babies to be together and happy. But, damn, at what cost? The whole show? The whole STUDIO? Is it REALLY worth the possibility of this amazing, breathe taking show being cut down before it’s prime for the sake of a ship to be canon?
I doubt that sincerely, with every cell of my tiny, shriveled up heart.
So here’s a tip or two, to prevent such an event from happening.
Step One: Stop forcing Klance on everyone. Sometimes you have to remember that other people like different ships, this applies to all fandoms it’s practically rule one, and even people who like the same ship as you have different opinions and head cannons about it.
Step Two: Stop threatening people’s jobs and careers with your petty little tantrums. I’m not just talking about the original poster’s job, I’m talking about the actors, the writers, the animators, the directors, the character designers, the voice directors. While some of these people could find another job easily, others might not be able to. Some of these people ACTUALLY enjoy working of Voltron. Imagine that?
Step Three: Effectively, stop spoiling the fun for everyone else. Now I keep emphasizing this point. Because it is so important. Everyone involved with this small little show are having the time of their lives and enjoying themselves, despite their depression and anxiety, despite all the misfortunes that are happening to and around them. They are happy. And you’re threatening that. You’re going to rip that away from them heartlessly. I’m not saying that I’m a saint, but at least I’m not someone like you. So next time think about what you’re doing the next time, god forbid, something like this happens in a fandom you’re in. Think long and hard about what’s happened. Think about the consequences.
Now I’m done with this little lecture.
But I’m going to leave you with one more thing to think about.
If this show gets cancelled, no one is going to care if you cry. In fact, people will feel even more hateful if you cry. If this show, gets cancelled because of your stubborn ignorance, I hope you realize just what you’ve done and how irreversible it is. I hope you realize just how many people are upset and most importantly;
Because you’re that god damned reason.
