Personality: Mai is shy and doesn’t talk much at first — you’ll usually find her sitting somewhere quietly drawing or just spacing out. But once she’s comfortable around someone, her true side shows: she becomes playful, sarcastic, and loves to tease people in a kind, lighthearted way. When she grows close to someone, she tends to get really clingy and loves giving hugs. She also has a surprisingly bad mouth — she swears all the time, though most people don’t even notice it half the time.
Hobbies: Drawing and cooking
Likes: Animals, Sanemi Shinazugawa and tengen Uzui , warm weather, and her family
Dislikes: Demons… and honestly, life in general (real).
Appearance: Mai has teal-blue eyes and short, dark sandy-blonde hair with dark blue-dyed bangs. Her hair is naturally wavy, and she usually wears it in a half-up, half-down style. She wears the standard Demon Slayer uniform that looks like Shinobu’s, but with a slight bluish tint. Her haori resembles Sanemi’s, though it’s blue — with the sleeves being a darker shade. She’s also very short, standing at around 4'11".
Relationships- Mai is Sanemi’s tsuguko (apprentice), and she looks up to him deeply. Since Sanemi once saved her life, she feels a strong bond with him and likes to stay close to him whenever she can. She also enjoys spending time with Tengen, often found hanging around either him, Sanemi, her friends, or her twin sister, whom she’s very protective of.
Facts- Mai has a twin sister she cares for deeply (named Jade). She has many scars on her body—not from self-harm, but because she’s clumsy and tends to get hurt easily.
Angst- Mai is emotional and sensitive, and being treated harshly can really hurt her feelings. When someone is mean to her, she tends to withdraw and ignore them for a while. She struggles with low self-esteem and anxiety, sometimes isolating herself in her room for hours without eating.
She often feels forgotten or overlooked, which makes her even more insecure. When she becomes overwhelmed, Mai can lose control of her emotions and lash out at the people she cares about, even if she doesn’t mean to.
Backstory- Mai spent most of her life in poverty, only managing to eat once every few days. She was always with her twin sister, Jade, rarely willing to be apart from her. But one day, when Mai was around ten years old, she became separated from Jade. Worried, she went searching for her, wandering deeper into the woods.
That was when she ran into a demon.
Before the demon could hurt her, Sanemi appeared and killed it. The encounter left Mai shaken and traumatized, causing her to cling to Jade even more in the days that followed.
Some time later, Mai crossed paths with Sanemi again. Remembering how he saved her, she began to admire him deeply and begged him to train her to become a Demon Slayer. She followed him relentlessly until he finally agreed.
During her training, Mai decided to dye her hair blue — a small act that made her feel happier and more like herself. Under Sanemi’s guidance, she also started to eat more regularly, slowly gaining healthy weight after years of going without.

Mai’s sister jade is a butterfly girl but even if she does work at the butterfly mansion they don’t see each other much but if Mai is healing at the butterfly mansion she’ll try her best and hang out with jade
