Ceci waddled out of her room, handmade cards and chocolates in hand, using the other to guide herself down the stairs. "Sammie? Syl?" She yelled out as she hopped off the last two stairs and nyoomed around, thankfully not falling on her face this time but she did bump into one of them and fall flat on her ass. "Hewwo?" “Ceci!” The lad helped her up. He checked for any signs of injury.

“You okay?”

“She seems fine. It wasn’t a terrible fall after all.” The other one replied, coming over to double check for himself.

"Ye-yea I'm ok!!" Ceci responded as she squinted at the both of them, still a tad confused with what she assumed was their hair colors. "Um!!! Are you two joining the circus?"

Then she gasped, "Can I join the circus too???"

The two exchanged looks and then nodded.

“You can be–”

“White!” The other one interrupted. The pink one raised an eyebrow in confusion.

“White?”

The blue one pointed to himself then to his twin, smiling softly. “Trans colors!”

The pink one’s eyes lit up. “Trans colors!”

Gasping, Ceci hopped in place now excited and giggling. "Trans color!!!! But!!! But wait!!"

Holding up the baggies of sweets and the cards she made for the two. "Here here!! Happy birthday!!!" There were doodles on the fronts of each cards, with their names written in the top corners

A meeting with an old friend

Drumming their fingers on the table, Linh muttered as they checked their phone for the hundredth time. Where the fuck was she? She was supposed to be here an hour ago. They tsked, this was really pissing them off.

Cecily quickly shoved her hand back into her pocket as she stumbled down the streets, checking her phone. She was late, she was late! Why is it so damn hard to navigate these places? Almost stumbling over her own feet she ran down the stairways and made a sharp turn. Please still be there!! She stumbled into a bakery, panting, and looked around while ignoring the stares of others.

"You're late again."

They hissed from their table, not only had she wasted their time, now she's embarrassing them in front of all these strangers.

"Linh!"

She quickly ran over and hugged the person tightly, lifting them up into the air. 

“I’m so sorry!!! The streets were just so confusing and I kept getting lost and-”

They shouted and flicked her forehead, frowning. Only a few moments later, she let them down and Linh brushed off the nonexistent dust off their hoodie, clearly embarrassed at the scene she’d caused. 

“Yea, yea. It’s whatever. Let’s just fucking get this over with.” 

They muttered, although still a bit pissed off as the excited girl sat down at the table and set down her book bag.

Cecily quickly took out her books along with her shark pencil case, digging through it as Linh sat back down across from her.

 "Can we go to the park after we're done?" 

She asked with a bright smile, flipping open her math textbook to the homework. She had just arrived at the café and she was already thinking about leaving to go play

Linh had to fight the urge to roll their eyes as they replied

“Depends. Are you gonna space out again?”

An embarrassed, "Hey!" came from the girl, earning a bit of a chuckle from them,

 "If we get your work done. Then we can go alright?"

"Oookie!!!"

"Happy birthday Gabe!" Ceci shouted as she ran over to him, happily carrying a dino plush with a ribbon around it's neck (@ask-miraculous-seychelles)

Gabe nearly jumped at the loud congratulations, but quickly formed a smile as he saw Ceci happily run up to him.

“Ah, thank you Ceci!” he patted her with a warm smile. When he noticed the plush, he raised a brow. “Oh, what’s this?”

He chuckled a bit, already knowing what this could be.

She giggled a bit as she excitedly jumped in place with the plush, "It's a dino plush!! Her name's Rexy!! She's for you because- because she's cool!! And you're cool!"She yelled it all in one breath, barely able to contain the excitement oozing out of her

His eyes followed Ceci as she jumped up and down.

Gabe smiled with a hint of shock, “Aww, Ceci. You really think I’m that cool?”

"Yea!! You're really cool!! And and super nice!!"

Ceci giggled, stopping her hops for a moment to catch her breath. She held out the big ol plush in Gabe's general direction.

"But yea!! Uh!! Um!! Happy birthday!!!"

Gabe grabbed the plush, looking at it and squishing it slightly with glee. Such a sweet present, even if he wasn’t really a plushie kind of person.

“Thank you, Ceci.”

"Noooo problem!!!"

Ceci shouted, now jumping again. She's glad he liked the gift she had picked out.

"Ok!! Um!! I have to meet up with someone now but um!! I'll see you later ok? Byeeee!!"

She then nyoomed off

Canzo zipped through the skies using his new wings, keeping an eye on the ground at the same time. Teddy had messaged that she was stuck and he'd answered the call. Soon he spotted the black bear holder and landed next to her. "How did you get stuck in a trash can?" -ask-miraculous-2promano

Teddy sniffled as she made a grabby hand motion, "Teddy's beary clumsy." She muttered. The cramped space was beginning to hurt her neck and legs and she was beginning to get a bit light headed. "Can you help Teddy out please Mister Bee?"

"Yeah, yeah, just don't squirm too much." Canzonape tilted the trash can and took Teddy's hand. "This might hurt a bit..."

He pulled. Hard. And out popped the black bear from the trash can prison. "Are you alright?"

As soon as she popped out, Teddy groaned and rubbed her back, "Ow ow ow,,," she stretched and after a moment the black bear holder smiled brightly and hopped in place.

"Yeah! Thank you for freeing Teddy Mister Bee!"

"It's no problem." The bee holder smiled and crossed his arms. "Though my name isn't Mister Bee. It's Canzonape. Do you need me to stay for a bit and make sure you're okay?"

"Oh! No it's ok!" The black bear holder said sheepishly and rubbed the back of her neck, "Teddy should probably go home and take a shower anyways after this but thank you for the offer Mister Canzonape!"

She hopped in place again, "Oh! Um um!" She jumped in place as she thought, "But it was!! Really nice to meet you!! Teddy's sorry she didn't bring any chocolates this time!!"

"Don't worry about it." He couldnt help but laugh a little at the hops. His day wasn't all that great so seeing the hops brought some happiness to it. "We could meet up another day and exchange sweets."

She smiled brightly once more and grabbed her discarded hammer, "That sounds like fun!! Teddy's lookin forward to it!" She then hopped off, hopefully in the direction of her home and not trip and fall into another trashcan

How has school been lately? Any exciting classes?

"I guess the science classes are my favorite because they're the easiest but I haaate maths and physical education."

Ceci groaned as she continued to speed walk to her next class.

"It's only the third day of school and I'm late again and my teachers get reaaaallly mad. Boooo!!! I just want to go home and nap."

What sort of stuff have you learned about your miraculous's past?

“From what Teddy has been tolf, the black bear miraculous was last used during the Cold War by a holder all the way in Russia alongside an Italian holder. She don’t remember clearly what miraculous they held but it was a birdie! Honey doesn’t really like to take about the last black bear too much, it seems to make them sad.”

Teddy hummed softly as she climbed into her bedroom through a window.

"They also told Teddy that the miraculous was usually used by really strong people! All over Europe!!! Even the Americas and Asia a few times!! It's super cool but Honey doesn't talk about them too much!! They get all grumpy and says they don't like to be serious!"

Now that you’re working with Merle, how do you feel?

"SUPER EXCITED!! TEDDY FINALLY GETS TO WORK WITH HER IDOL!"

Teddy Ursa hopped in place excited as she spun around as well.

"She can't wait to get to do holder work with Miss Merle!!"

"My absolute favorites have always been macarons! They're just so yummy! My favourites are chocolate macarons specifically!!"

What made you want to be an inbetweener?

Teddy giggled a bit nervously and tapped her foot nervously, "It's a bit silly but um,, Teddy just likes to be a gremlin sometimes but she also likes that be good sometimes!" She chirped and scratched her cheek. "She doesn't have the heart to be super mean!"

Sorry I haven’t been so active! I’ve been working on other stuff! Here’s a Teddy as a way to say I’m back!

The dull ache in his head brought him back. His hand slowly reached out to find anything to grab onto, to support his weight, eventually settling on the wall to his right. The effort he exerted to just stand was more than he was used to and it appeared to double the pain, now shooting in the back of his head.

What happened last night?

Was his first thought. His eyes opened, blurry and unfocused, but able to see the sun had set outside. Normally the castle would be too dark to see without the help of a candle but… he was able to see fine once his vision cleared. What was going on?

He'll have to search around to find out.

She couldn't believe it, was it true? Running down the street with a bag of sweets in hand, Teddy Ursa ran through the streets in hopes to find her favorite avian holder. She wanted to be the first to welcome her back and finally get to meet her in person! (@ask-miraculous-seychelles)

It wasn’t Merle who would greet Teddy Ursa yet, but a fellow acquaintances to the Blackbird: Duch.

The phantom bird flew low, hovering close to the young Black Bear holder. It sang a little melody, clearly less threatening than other times.

Teddy looked in the direction of the little tune, squinting as she tried to make out the shape of it’s silhouette. “Tweety bird!” She shouted excitedly as she came to a halt, she dug into her pockets for a piece of chocolate.

With a bright smile, she unwrapped it and offered it to Duch, “Here! It’s for you!”

Duch swooped down, perching on Teddy’s hand and looking at the chocolate curiously. After a while, the bird pecked it from her fingers and flew up to the rooftop, retreating to a figure that stood there.

“Sorry, but they don’t eat candy,” Merle held her hand out, Duch laying the chocolate piece in her hand, “But I at least appreciate it.”

Her gaze further examined Teddy Ursa. She seemed young, probably one of the teenage holders. She gave the energy of the excited type, bubbly and cheery. She’s heard of this one, but now she was finally laying eyes on them.

“Teddy Ursa, the Black Bear, yes?”

Teddy was disappointed by the news but only for a second as the excitement of meeting Merle quickly overtook her.

“Uh- um- Yea! Um- Teddy’s your biggest fan!” She exclaimed excitedly as she hopped in place. She couldn’t believe she’s finally meeting her favorite hero. “She um-“ Teddy held up the baggie of sweets, “She brought you some sweets as a hello gift!“

Merle’s eyes widened under her mask. She was... her fan?

“Uh...” she crossed her arms, “I’m not sure if you got the wrong birdie. I’m Merle Noire...”

Her voiced raised at the end, like a question.

She wasn’t sure why this girl would be her fan, and she hesitated in even accepting the candy, in case this was a mistaken identity. After all, she did not have the best reputation, and she was not the most moral of the avians.

“Teddy’s sure she’s got the right birdie,” She thought for a moment and poked her cheek with her free hand then pointed to herself. 

“Yea! Teddy’s favorite hero is Merle Noire!” She exclaimed once more and tilted her head to the side. “Is,, Merle upset Teddy likes her?“ Her arm with the baggies and she frowned a bit. She didn’t want to make Merle upset, she finally came back and this was her first impression of her.

Merle held out her hands and waved them semi-frantically, “No no. Not upset. Just... shocked.”

Hero? She’s not a hero.

But trying to correct her would probably upset her more; the kid did nothing wrong, so Merle would just have to work with this. For her sake.

“Then again, I should’ve already gotten the idea,” she crossed her arms again, with a small smile, “I did get your message from Mirlo.”

Teddy poked her cheek, thinking again, “Why so shocked? Merle’s one of the best?” She crossed her arms and huffed, “People just don’t know how cool she is.”

Wait, you were supposed to ask her something Teddy, don’t get off topic!

She slapped her cheeks gently and shook her head, “Wait wait wait! Teddy needs to ask you something! Can she um,,, be like your sidekick?” She asked, tilting her head to the side

The compliments continued to come in like whiplash. She wasn’t sure if this kid just wasn’t aware enough or genuinely adored chaos.

“Sidekick?...” Merle’s head cocked up, looking at the eager holder.

She sighed a bit. It almost reminded her of the Wolf Pack days. Besides, a part of her almost feared what would happen if she let such an impressionable holder go away and get caught up with other forces; she did seem to have a penchant for less moral holders, and Merle was probably the most moral of the least.

“Well... there’s going to be some ground rules before we both agree all the way.”

“Ground rules?" She repeated a bit worried, she really did want to work with Merle. Her happily expression flattered for a moment

What if she didn’t agree to the terms? What if it turned out in the end Merle still didn’t want her to be her sidekick?

She shook her head and slapped her cheeks to clear her head of the thoughts, “Yea! Ok!”

“First of all,” Merle started off, “you cannot flaunt around that you work with me. That’s for our safety. Many people have it out for me, and I wouldn’t want anyone to hurt you to get to me and vice versa.”

“Second, we’ll use Duch to communicate. I don’t give out my contact nor do I take any. Again, it opens up the opportunity for people to target us, so let’s avoid that.”

She pulled her hand down to her hip.

“Third, you have to understand if...” this one weighted a bit heavier on her, “I find that you’re too unstable, too dangerous, I will be taking your miraculous. I don’t like when people abuse their power, especially over others, and I’ve never been one to hesitate on that.”

She looked at Teddy again, sighing a bit. It sounded a bit harsh, but it was necessary to put out there, so that past mistakes didn’t come back to haunt her. The first rule was probably the most difficult to work with for this little bear, but it was also one of the most important.

“Can you work with that?”

Teddy stood there for a moment, taking everything in and trying to process it. She understood why Merle needed the rules, especially the last one considering what had happened not too long ago.

She shook her head to clear her thoughts again and then nodded, “Yea! Teddy can work with it!” She responded enthusiastically, hopping in place.

"We get along ok!"

Ceci said as the kwami snickered a bit.

"Kid's not too bad, kinda dumb but she's sweet. We get along pretty alright."

Tough question to ask but any bad memories from your previous foster parents?

“No not really,,,most of them were kind to me but,,”

“It kinda hurt when they called me a liability because of me going blind or because I’m trans. I’ve been returned a lot because of those reasons.”
