"PFFFT why do you look so dumb and sound so dumb? You know this is karma getting back at you!"
"She is having the time of her.... undeath?:
Sooooo................... Do you sparkle?
"No."
Alessia opens curtains enough for moon light to shine through and onto Flavio. His face begins sparkling.
"Maybe."
I am a viper! I vant to vipe your windows! Vould you vant to suck my blood in exchange??
*squints* "Someone tell me vhat is going on. Vhy are you talking like that? Vhy am I talking like this?!"
On a night like any other, no one would think anything would be out of the ordinary. If only that were the case...
Two creatures slunked through the darkened streets; on the lookout for anyone who dare stray away. Eyes glowing red and yellow scanned their surroundings until they locked on a target.
A poor man stumbled out of a tavern, clearly drunk and unaware of his surroundings. The leader of the pair signaled for the other to go around and pick a hiding spot further ahead.
The two got in position, pupils shrinking to slits at the prospect of a meal. The leader took a step only to be engulfed in a cloud of pink smoke with a poof sound.
As it cleared, he looked down, having noticed his appearance had changed.

New header!!! Head on over to @the-luna-sphere and commission her for something as sweet as this!!!
Woah did you know you could make other vampires??
"I did not... I just knew in that moment what to do. I suppose the transformation came with some new instincts."
"Also what is a vampire?"
Another Risen
Sunrise, noon, evening, and then dusk. The moon soon climbed high into the sky to take its place beside the stars. All previous nighttime noises silenced as the moon rose steadily higher. Were they waiting for something? Most likely not. But they could tell a new energy had begun seeping through the forest as the day went by.
At last, the moon reached her highest point. There was a stirring next to Flavio, Alessia's fingers twitched, then her hand, until eventually her arm regained the strength needed to push herself up.
"I… I was dead. What's going on?"
Flavio took a moment to respond, looking Alessia over to see that her body had some very subtle changes to it. "I've turned you."
The former huntress's head snapped to attention and focused on the mysterious creature. "Turned me into what?"
"I don't know exactly what." The man stood up and brushed the dirt off his pants. "All that matters is that you're now like me."
Like him? No, no, no, no, no! She couldn't be! She couldn't be a creature that was so obviously made by the devil! her own father… her father! Alessia whipped around to see Francesco's body still in the clearing. She didn't need to touch it to know that it was cold now, her father having passed since she was… killed.
"I refuse to be like you! Just kill me, I won't go along with anything you do!"
Flavio snorted and pushed himself up from the fallen tree he'd been sitting on. "Problem with that. You can't die. Thanks to me you're now immortal with nothing but the sun to stop you."
Alessia spoke no more, wanting to forget this was actually happening. She was some other kind of demon now… but she wasn't one when she had murdered her own father.Â
……….
Maybe she was meant for this after what she'd done.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Flavio had left Alessia at some point to let her process as much as she could. Based on his own experience, it would take a bit to adjust to the changes her body had gone through. What he didn't expect was to come back to a grave. Evidently, Alessia had buried her father in the time he was gone. She had even made a "gravestone" using Francesco's sword.Â
She explained that it was a hunter's grave to show he'd fallen in battle. Alessia then made a promise as they both left together, she would find a way to end him and then herself. Nothing would stop her.
We'd just have to see about that.
Another Fallen
Through the bushes they pushed onward, looking for any sign of what could've killed their fellow citizens. The last couple months had been filled with uncertainty and fear for their town. Attacks during the night leaving many dead with an unknown reason. Whispers of wolves being responsible didn't alleviate any fears, and for good reason. None of the bodies had been torn apart and howling hadn't been heard in the wee hours of the morning. Something-no, someone was creating the chaos in their sleepy town. And it was up to them to find out who.
Francesco led the charge of course. He was the more experienced of the two. Thoughts of their adversary took up space in his mind while he tracked traces of footprints in the mud. What were they like? How were they able to kill with no signs of struggle on the victims? In all his years of training, he had never seen a demon kill without tearing apart the body but this one… they were two punctures on the neck and no trace of blood left in the body.
What exactly were they dealing with?
Alessia, on the other hand, stayed behind her father to make certain any sneak attacks failed. Was it possible they were hunting a new type of demon? The thought of that alone excited her; those who managed to take a new type down were praised and talked about for a long time. She could go down in legend if this goes right! Her and her father!
A sound reached them. One that charmed the senses. A… violin? But why was a violin being played so far out into the woods? For whatever reason, the melody being played was hypnotic and the pair found themselves transfixed, all attention focused on the notes weaving through the branches. Step. Step. Step. They slowly continued on their way to the source of the music.Â
Soon they reached a tree where a blond man sat on one of the branches out of their reach. He spared a glance down at the duo and slipped down to the ground, landing in such a way he didn't make a sound. The man drew closer with his feet keeping in time to the beat of the music, sometimes fast and sometimes slow.Â
"Who do I have here?" The stranger asked, all the while not letting the melody falter. "Two hunters by chance? An odd sight to see in these parts."
He examined the pair to further understand what he was dealing with. The man had the most experience obviously. Parts of his attire were more new than others suggesting holes had been patched, scuff marks littered his arms and shoulders, and his weapons had more of a dull shine. The younger one had an outfit that screamed inexperience. No patches, minimum scuff marks, and blades that reflected the moon. The more he studied the more interested he became. Slowly, though, the music became more faint until it stopped, the bow now resting against the strings.
Now.
Francesco took that window of opportunity to draw his daggers and lunge at the creature. The small blades came down only to meet with nothing. Flavio side steeped, baring his fangs in anger that he lost control only to catch sight of Alessia. She was free as well but looked dazed, confused, processing the experience she had just gone through. Slow. Less willful. An evil plan hatched in Flavio's head as he dodged another swipe. Why should he fight this battle? A swipe later and the creature was now back in the tree, violin and bow poised.
"You think your fight is with me, hunter? Wrong, it's with her."Â
Bow met strings, generating harsh and haunting notes. All of his hypnotic powers honed in on Alessia and locked her in. Soon her daggers were drawn and met her father's. Francesco couldn't help but look at his daughter in shock, what was she doing?! They were now locked in a deadly dance with Alessia's blades coming ever closer to Francesco's skin. And then, oh then, how unfortunate, her father tripped over a small branch, sending him to the ground. His own daughter wasted no time in pinning him down and raising her dagger high, allowing for the metal to soak in the moon's glow, before being driven into the man's chest. Each swipe of the elegant bow brought the dagger down again and again until there was no possible chance for the hunter to still be alive.
The music calmed at that instant to a more soothing tone, allowing for the tension in Alessia's body to melt away and for her to stand up. Flavio slid from the tree again and approached, sparing no glance at the once proud man on the groundÂ
"Well met, hunter." His head tilted ever so slightly. "What is your name?"
She hesitated ever so slightly. As much as she could until a harsh tug on the strings prompted her to respond. "Alessia."
"Alessia, your skills are most impressive." The violin dropped from his shoulder and the music ceased. She wouldn't recover fast enough. "The name is Flavio Vecellio."
In a second he brought Alessia close and bit down, fangs sinking into her neck. She snapped back at the sharp sting and screamed in attempts to get someone, anyone, to come help her! But they were so far out in the woods and no one would think to run in the direction of a scream. Slowly but surely all the energy drained from her body. She couldn't even slap him if she wanted from all the blood loss. Eventually Alessia was almost drained with the only sign of her life being her faint breaths of air.Â
Normally this would be it for Flavio's victims. He'd drain them and leave them for dead so why, why did he feel compelled to do something else? He lowered the woman down and picked up one of the daggers, drawing a finger over the blade's edge. He watched in fascination as a bead of blood trailed down his finger and looked down at Alessia. An idea formed and pressed the metal against his palm, applying just enough force to break the skin and allow his blood to flow to one side of his hand.
He knelt down next to Alessia and held the injured hand to her lips and watched his blood drip into her mouth. For a few moments nothing happened and he felt his time was being wasted. Only for the faint breathing to suddenly stop.
Alessia had just died.
Calm as ever, the man picked up her now still body and moved it to a spot where the branches intertwined, allowing no moonlight to reach the ground. Now it was only a matter of waiting.
What powers did you get? Have you gotten to test them out so far??
"I've noticed that locking eyes with people makes them listen and do whatever I say. It's been useful to get out of... situations, when being questioned about my somewhat abnormal behavior." Flavio then paused to spare a glance at a case next to them. "But there's one I'm not certain of."
"... There's been numerous attacks in the woods recently." A voice could be heard. Older, a man, trying to hide the almost hidden qorried tone in his voice with a more serious one. "So I want you coming with me just to be safe."
"Think we'll find it?" This one was younger and from a woman. He could tell that she was more curious than worried about the danger.
"Hopefully. Grab your gear, we're heading out now."
The pair exited the bar in a hurry. Just before the door closed, Flavio was able to catch a glimpse of their attire, enough to know what they were up to. Hunters. But not just any hunters.
Demon hunters.
"And it looks like I have someone to test it out on."
A friend, huh? Who exactly are you looking for?
"Florencio." He could picture his friend clearly. "He was our court mage and rightfully so. We were close in age and basically grew up together.
The man then thought of the castle and the lives he'd taken. Thinking back on it, he did regret a bit of his actions. He never wanted to hurt Elena or his mother but that night... "I didn't see him in the castle when I walked through. He must've escaped and I must find him."
Because it came up while talking to a friend.
This blog isn't going to be historically accurate. Time will flow however I want and maybe real life countries will be mentioned. But this is more of a fantasy world with some ties to ours.
So, it's been a while since that whole mess... Any idea on what you want to do now?
"Mostly travel." Flavio looked up at the sounds of a commotion starting. Two drunk men fighting before one abruptly leaving. "But also learn what I've become. So far I've learned I was given a few powers, I just need to know the extent of them."
"And find my friend..."
Word spread throughout the kingdom like a plague. The castle's guards, staff, advisors, and royal family were all murdered in one night! On every corner of the streets, citizens talked about the attack, speculations and theories galore! How did someone sneak into the castle and manage to commit such an atrocity? Not even the royal family's aunts, uncles, and cousins could deliver an explanation that satisfied everyone.Â
But what got the kingdom's attention was the fact the crowned prince was missing. His body wasn't found leading many to believe the attackers had taken him captive. A logical conclusion, sure, with the king and princess dead. Capturing the prince would ensure great rewards from his extended fault for his safe return. So the kingdom waited, and waited, and waited and yet no one had heard anything on whether the prince was alive.
What they didn't know was the prince was still alive or, at least, as much as he could be. Months later after that tragic night, he sits at the back of a bar.
Figuring out his next steps.
