Though Épée Sanglante was privy to the existence of others that bore the same visage and previous name as herself, she’d never thought she would actually get to meet one of them. The woman knows not why other versions of herself exist, but she finds herself fascinated by them all the same. Just how similar were they? Was it only in visage and name or was this Joseph spared in the fate of losing... The Vampire offers a polite smile, fangs obvious as she does so. No reason to be thinking of that after all; now was the time for courtesy. Yet how strange it is to look into the face of someone who looks identical to you. Though considering her past, it should not be so surprising to her now should it? Well, at least she still has her seven foot height at least. "Well dear, what a pleasure it is to meet your darling self!" Joséphine speaks, nothing but friendliness lacing her voice. "I'd ask for your name but I believe I may already have an inkling as to what it may be." A light chortle comes from her after this statement.

“…My, my, my,” the photographer says at last, “what a welcome surprise.” There is something sharp and bright catching in those cherubic blue eyes, the way light glints upon the blade of their sabre.

The tall figure before them was indeed a spitting image of themself to the untrained eye. As frequent as such encounters were becoming, it still left a bitter taste in Joseph’s mouth. They had spent enough time gazing upon their reflection to notice the faint imperfections in the line or curve of the lip. Not to mention the obvious differences.

This “version” of themself possesses a deathly pallor, the rouge upon her lips and cheeks lending only an artificial flush of life. More than that, however, the woman’s attire confirms their suspicion.

Their mind wanders to the previous letter they’d received only days prior to this peculiar guest. A vampire, then. Perhaps they ought to have invested in some protection from the paranormal, the photographer muses sardonically.

In turn, their eye wanders to their camera.

…No time like the present to test a hypothesis or two.

Joseph turns back to their surprise guest with a practiced grin. “Forgive my absentmindedness. Why don’t you come in? I am sure we have much to discuss.”

May I ask what your issues with the once skin are?

//Hi anon! I’m assuming you mean the tags on a previous post — but I don’t actually have any major complaints ^^. It’s well-designed and a great example of “less is more” that I think some other skins would benefit from haha. The colors, outfit, and effects are a lovely blend of simplicity while still feeling worthy of being an A tier. My only disappointment was that I guess I was hoping for some non-depressed Joseph content? Most of the other ONCE skins showed the character in their prime when they were happy or at least better off. It would have been nice to see what Joseph was like before being pulled under by grief and depression — but, oh well. I suppose we can always use our imagination :)

Can you photograph a vampire? If so, can they be trapped in the mirror world?

“Vampires aren’t real, you know.”

“…Still, if I were to place a wager, I doubt my camera would be effective upon one. The silver-based medium of photography would reject vampires for the same reason their reflections don’t show upon silver-backed mirrors — since the substance is considered ‘holy’, it cannot be tainted by the image of demonic beings.”

If someone were to, entirely theoretically speaking, borrow one of your cameras and take it apart to examine the mechanical structure, but was sure to put it back together and have it returned to you in one piece, so it'd be like nothing ever happened... how mad would you be at them if you found out? theoretically, of course. nobody's thinking about doing this.

is there any changes when you go into a match and ya look like some broken China vase? Like- do you feel weird when you’re like that or is there no difference?

In matches, I must open my cameraworld to trap new souls, and as a result, I temporarily cannot maintain the appearance of my own. With the cameraworld open, my body and soul are split; only combined again when I enter through one of my preserved images.

...It should come as no surprise that I am not quite myself in such a state.
