āIf youāre alright with it, Iād be glad to, Tsurara.ā
She walked until they came to the park, and made a beeline for the unoccupied bench that was still reasonably shaded. She smiled at Tsurara and gestured to the bench.
āYou seem more concerned about sun exposure than I am, so whichever side looks better to you, youāre welcome to it.ā
He politely nodded at her in thanks and sat on the left side of the bench, the instant udon cradled in his hands. He waited for Jeanne to sit down as well before touching his food.
āThank you for the food,ā he whispered, chopsticks in hand.
Jeanne crossed her legs, resting the shaved ice on her knee and started eating it after echoing Tsuraraās comment.Ā
āThis is really tasty, I wished I had known about it sooner.ā
āThank you,ā he replied between bites of udon.
The ice and snowĀ from his mouth threatened to spill out after he said the two words; he would have to stop talking for a bit and concentrate a little to keep them down. āI should try out that new instantĀ miso/gochuu-jang ramen that came out recently tomorrow,ā he quietly thought to himself as he gazed upon the scenery in front of him, āOr I could just make some kimbab for me and both Kanta and Miko..ā
Jeanne finished her ice and, not wanting to disturb Tsurara since he had gone quiet while he ate, pulled out her notebook so she could do a quick sketch of the building just visible on the other side of the small park. Something about the windows intrigued her but she couldnāt place what about them made them stand out.
āMaybe itās the tint of the glassā¦ā She muttered under her breath as she drew the windows.
His gaze wandered towards the sky. There was a few small scattered clouds here and there, but it was mostly clear.
āWhat a pretty day, butā¦ā he thought, the empty udon cup in his lap, ā..It reminds me too much of Tsukiā¦ā
Tsuraraās eyes flickered with melancholy.
She had turned to ask Tsuraraās opinion on the building when she couldnāt quite place what it was that intrigued her, and Jeanne caught the sad look in his eyes.
āIs everything alright?ā She asked cautiously, tapping the bench to get his attention.
He snapped out of the trance and turned to face Jeanne.
āAh- yes..ā he murmured, āI am ok.ā
āLiar, youāre not okā his internal voice told him,āYou havnāt been ok ever since the incident.ā
ā..Did you need something?ā he quietly asked, part of his concentration still pushing the ice/snow down.
