"congratulations on not growing up again this year. " as usual, Fugo used snide comments to hide how awkward he was about it. "uhm... I couldn't really pick, so I got a few things. I noticed you've been picking at your skin from time to time and thought you might be feeling under-stimulated? so... so I got you these. I hope they can help you out."

"and uhm.. 4 leafs might get Mista too upset, but I thought you could use a little extra luck. it's got pockets too."

Narancia held the gifts in his hands, slightly confused.

”This is way more than what I’ve gotten you...even for Christmas...” He put some of them down since he couldn’t carry the whole lot by himself. “But thank you...I appreciate it.”

Narancia looked at the other doubtfully. “Did you really need to get me all of this- I don’t think I can repay you.”

(true feelings MA /o/) it's not like Fugo wanted to be a dick. not at all. but this really seemed like a good opportunity... if any at all. sigh. "so.. I think you've been holding back on saying some things to me. I want to hear them, properly. " he paused for a second. "I promise I won't stab you or anything. just be honest."

“I don’t have a choice..” Narancia grimaces as he flicks the top of his fingernails. “Just ask me something.”

“You’re just being..really nice, I guess? It’s too nice.” Of course, nothing is ever too nice for him but he felt as if it was.

”Too much mushy crap.”

Fugo frowned confused, trying not to laugh. “Wouldn’t you usually want to date someone because you think they’re nice??? Fine, if it’s too much for you, I’ll be insufferable again. just the way you like it.” And pinched the other’s cheeks.

“….why, though? it’s obviously not because I’m such a kind and pleasant person… Why would you want to date someone like me? I don’t get it.” It wasn’t some self-loathing ‘I don’t deserve to be loved bla bla bla’. He just seriously didn’t get what Narancia was thinking.

“Why not,” he starts, trying to push Fugo’s fingers off of his cheeks. “You’re just really cool. I think so at least. And you’re pretty, and you care. You’re trying to help me with school and everything.”

Narancia grins. “I admire you.”

“….” Fugo didn’t really know how to reply, even though he had been the one to ask about it. “….thank you.” he muttered eventually, leaving his cheeks be.

Fugo didn’t have to think deeply why he loved Narancia. It was things like this, his unfiltered sincerity and blunt honesty. It was dazzling Just when he’d think the other had maggots for brains, he struck him deeply with these kinds of words. It was unsettling and Fugo couldn’t get enough of it.

Now it was the others turn to pinch Fugo’s cheeks, reaching up on his toes to plant a small kiss on the tip of the others nose.

He had to admit that it was different from what he had been used to, but he was having fun. He enjoyed how honest Fugo himself was being with him, and the affection he had been receiving.

He was happy.

And that’s all that matters.

”You’re welcome, Panna.”
