DREAM CREATURE GUIDE 1.0

It’s here! It’s here!  The DREAM CREATURE GUIDE is finally going public.  There’s a few parts I’m still not 100% on, those are going to be in underlines within the guide.

This was the original prompt given to the muns of the first batch of player-made DCs before they created their muses.

A large amount of fire pellets were launched at Dots from behind. [codeburnt]

Practicing his blep and not having noticed the intruder at the stairway to the Ruins, Dots is hit and yelps out in shock and pain.  He immediately attempts a stop, drop, and roll routine in an attempt to end the embers.

A sharp “Hmm?” can be heard from the next room over in both directions.  One sounds surprised, the other as if someone where awakened from their slumber.“Ow! Ow! Ow! Ow! Ow!  What the *Penguin noises* was that for?!”  the yarn doll yells out mid-roll.  The burning seems to be calming down, but still leaves a few parts charred.

While Dots was rolling, Catburnt leapt out, not bothering to speak this time and simply tried to rip them apart with his claws.

The yarndoll frantically and randomly hurls a bottlebomb on instinct, in far too much in a panic to aim it properly.  Would it hit, or at least scare him into acting civil?  Who knows?

Pots enters the room, several feet away from the bickering duo as he yawns and wipes his eyes with a vine.

He was hit by the bomb, thrown to the side of the room.

‘That’s it. You’re dead.’

He leapt at Dots, trying to bite into his cotton, not noticing Pots.

Taking advantage of the knockback, Dots burrows away.  But he’s just a tad too slow to escape unscathed! ‘Kittyburn’ gets a mouthful of half a petal, which tears off into a fun cat-sized toy!  The doll lets out a pitiful whimper at the pain as his upper petal gets split into two. Looks like he’ll need to get that repaired later.

With a fairly large grin on his face, Pots begins scolding the kitty, waving a vine in the air to emphasize his words and try to seem angry about this turn of events.  “You idiot!  Mom’s almost here!”

“Mine, silly!”  Pots gloats with a gleeful smile. “And I’d rather NOT be forced to fix her memory with a reload.”  Maybe he should speak up about... nah it’ll be more fun to watch the cat discover that on his own!

“Sorry, didn’t see insignificant little you there!  I was too busy thinking about how to accomplish my mission, hee-hee!”

A flower with buttons for eyes stealthily approaches behind a distracted Rowdy. His eyes open in shock when he sees Hallow. That's new, he thinks to himself. He quickly recomposes himself, outside of a shit-eating grin, and places a vine near his mouth, as if gesturing "Shhh."

Continuation from this thread (Warning: some of that thread may be a bit too PG13 suggestive for children and/or work?).

Panicking, the yarn balls appear to sink through the ground as the flower opens his inventory to find something suitable to end this incident.  Suddenly, a bottle bomb (pilfered from Ebott earlier) slips out and gets sent flying!  Luckily, his momentum means the inventory was moving too, so the bomb’s explosion should be far enough to not blow either of them up.

Unfortunately for the Rowdy, the visuals, sound, and debris from the explosion may be coming after him!  Not quite how Dots (doll!Pots) had ANTICIPATED this escape attempt going, but should this distraction buy him an escape opportunity, he’ll take it!  This was starting to get a bit too demeaning and dangerous for his taste anyways.

Pots was just minding his business one day, perhaps humming the Ruins theme as he idly wanders about the first room while Toriel heads back home, paying him and his music no heed whatsover.  You know the room.  The one where fallen children tend to land.  Except there were no Golden Flowers in it this time.  And then, suddenly!

“Howd-”  He stares dumbfounded before the cake phases right through him and his face, splatting against the wall instead.

Press F to pay respects to the Innocent Lemon Cake.

“Really, Chara?”  he asks with a hint of amusement thinly veiled by an agitated facial expression.  He’s probably got some explaining to do.  They both probably do, huh?

Doll Chara had been about to giggle when the cake hit the wall instead. Their smile fell into a stare of confusion. What had they stumbled into? And why had their joke cake gone right through someone? They looked at their hands. Had they accidentally added something weird?

They looked back at Pots. Well, the cake had hit the wall, so either this flower had something weird going on, or that cake did in regards to living things.

“Uh. Greetings? Have we met?”

“Chara!” he instinctively exclaims upon hearing that familiar voice, before covering his mouth with a vine upon realizing his error.  It COULDN’T be HIS Chara, and those eyes.  This person… This person looked like… like THAT GUY.

“Guess you got suckered into that contract, too?”  A tiny, exposed root lightly kicks the air.  Yes, yes.  Change the subject.  Pry for some info, but make it feel casual.

“Contract?” They tilted their head. “You mean the one that purple squid had?” They offered a shrug. “Anything to get away from home.”

Then, they paused. Suckered in too? That meant this flower had signed one as well. This flower knew Wewwington. They might know about the dolls, too. But then why were they…What would that even be called? Intangible? Doll Chara swayed on their feet a little and clasped their hands behind their back. “Did yours make you all, uh, untouchable?”

He nods.  “Anything to get away from my boredom and loneliness,”  he admits.

“N-not that I expected it to actually work!” he hastily adds defensively while waving his vines in a crossing pattern next to himself.  “I’ve...  been like this even before him.”

Contemplating a few things, Pots looks behind himself at the splattered cake.  “You don’t seem to be like the other me.  So, why did you come here?”

A yarn doll shaped like a certain familiar but annoying Golden Flower, ut with buttons for eyes, approaches. "I'm here to talk about our mutual..." He slams down a grilled cheese and orange sherbert on the table. "Acquaintance..." He snickers softly to himself, offering a plastic knife and spoon to the electric flower as he smirks.

(Just gonna do writing for this one. Art stuff probably is gonna take a while to happen, but this is substantial enough to not need the extra flavor. As nice as it would be.)Zorch had tensed up, then squinted, eyeing the odd and uncanny doll that shared the approximate appearance of a flower that still put a rather bitter taste in his mouth as it glibly shuffled into his room, like it really thought that was within its rights. Why was he here? Or, rather what looked like him? Was this something like the puppet that Flowey had mocked him with before? But then there’d still have be something controlling it, which didn’t seem to be the case…? Unless it was through means of some sort of magic… However, shortly after his train of thought started, it was interrupted by the doll speaking up, clearly showing that it not only looked like Pots, but sounded like him too. The lightning flower backed up and tilted his head slightly. Their mutual…? -And again his thoughts were interrupted by the doll, this time by it suddenly slamming down the food onto the table. His eyes flicked to the food, back to the doll, then to the set of plasticware, understanding the point a few moments after. Their mutual acquaintance…As on guard and annoyed as the lightning flower was to see Pots’(?) irritating face and his ostensibly (albeit characteristically) stupid move to just waltz in, it certainly roused his usual curiosity as well. Just who was he referring to? What all intentions did he really have? They had to be rather important for him to make an entrance like this and apparently resort to bribery. Perhaps it’d be worth at least learning what he came here for and figuring out the reason behind the puppet look…Looking up again and leaning back into a summoned vine, while not yet accepting the doll’s offer, Zorch spoke with a suspicious tone. “What ‘mutual acquaintance’ are you talking about? And what’s with new look?”

“My lookalike.”  The yarn doll answers, carefully using one vine to tug and stretch the fabric of the other ever so slightly.  By allowing light to pass through the gap, he hopes to prove this is no mere parlor trick or Halloween costume. ”He shall suffer the hatred and rejection he so deserves.”  He then summons some pellet-sized yarn balls and juggles them with his vines as a sort of idle background task for his own entertainment. “I framed him for trashing Ebott’s lab and created an ad for a charity designed to protect plushies from him. But that’s not enough.”  He grins sinisterly after this comment.

Though Zorch strikes him as the more the thinking type, rather than one who would recklessly endanger himself with a contract’s more direct approach, Dots figures it’s worth a shot.

“You may call me Dots when alone or with my allies.  Whether it be co-developing brilliant plots, making toy donations, or a more DIRECT role like signing a contract with my master.  Any assistance would be appreciated... and rewarded.”

The yarn-replica of Pots raises a fabricated vine, putting Rowdy into a headlock as he pivots infront of him.  “If you whiiiiff what the Briiick is Sauteeing!”

And then BOOM!  He falls backwards, giving Rowdy’s poor head a painfully close encounter with the ground!

Rowdy sold the gesture. Oh did he sell it so well. BLAM! Flat on his face he found himself. He knew how something like this was going to go. The plant, whatever kind of plant this was, was going to move away from him and bask in the glory of their successful DDT. Was it really Damien’s dinner time, though? Of course not. If Rowdy knew how to do a thing, it was playing possum. 

While Pots-o-Yarn was admiring their work, Rowdy’s hand wrapped itself around the fluffy stem. With a swift movement he began rolling onto his back, dragging the wooly flower with him. He didn’t care if Pots was going to be slammed on the ground, minor detail in positioning. After this, though… he sat and looked at his prey with an intense look. “Finally, the Rowds…” he neared his face from the flower’s “HAS COME BACK TO THE RUINS!” After that, he just looked at the fluffy plant.

Consider that gesture SOLD.  Caught fully unaware, the big guy had little trouble dragging his prey. The doll squeaks upon impact with the ground, fraying ever so slightly as he gets dragged across it. “C-careful! you [insert duck quacking noise]! I spent a lot of time and effort on this costume!”  he pleads(?).  Stupid, dumb, ‘Pots.’  First of all, aren’t you a little light to be a flower AND a costume?  And secondly, why are you acting so darn annoying! Depending on where Rowdy and Hallow were looking, they may or may not notice the balls of yarn appearing behind the so-called ‘Pots.’

Meet Dots

Meet Dots!  This yarn-based doll was created when our favorite fluffy fudge-up Pots signed a contract with Wellington Jr of @gwavestonecemetewy. His interests include destroying what’s left of Pots’ good name and causing tons of mischief! 

Pots KNEW it was a trick.  But after being alone for so long with no signs of Frisk or Chara, he was getting a bit desperate.  He didn’t expect the “twin” to actually work.  He was just hoping to start a prank war with that bootleg octopus. But it seems he may have gotten in over his head.

He makes sure the camcorder is a bit dirty to blur his yarn figure and hands “Corndog” a note.  The doppelganger of Pots then takes a bunch of “Corndog’s” toys.

He stretches them, puts them in his mouth while muttering creepy things.  And at last throws them on the ground before wiping his roots on them .  Much like one would crush a bug.
