So I’ve been wondering about what happened with nick’s mom and everything…and I don’t know if anyone has said this yet but what if nick never went back home after that experience with the ranger scouts. His mother scraped up enough money just to get him a uniform and maybe nick felt so ashamed that he didn’t get into the ranger scouts that he couldn’t bare to go back home and tell her what happened so he ran away. And to take an even darker route perhaps she died from grief or something else and that’s why we don’t see her even when he graduates the academy. Just something I’ve been thinking about…
