“She must’ve found her during the blizzard. She’s saved!”
“Pinkie Pie!” She yelped.
“Y’ello!” Pinkie cheered as she popped from below the counter.
“Who was that pony you served coffee to?”
“Well I served a lot of ponies like Fluttershy, Peppermint Patti, Applejack, Nightwind, Moonburst, Cloud Ki-.”
“I meant the one with the big humpback!” Applebloom exclaimed.
“Applebloom, you can’t just yell about somepony’s disability! That’s mean!” Pinkie Pie gasped. “ What if I wanted to yell about how big and...floppy your bow is, huh!?” She ended with a declarative snort.
“Wait, you think bow is flop-...” Applebloom muttered to herself before shaking her head about of it. “Who was it!?”
“Oh, that was just Cheerilee.” Pinkie Pie answered with delight.
A oven dings from the kitchen in the back.
“She said her and Twilight Sparkle were helping someone. It seemed important.” Pinkie Pie said before leaving to address chaos happening in the kitchen.
Applebloom balances the tray of hot cocoas back to her booth. She slams it anxiously on the table.
“It’s Ms. Cheerilee!” She gasped.
“Ms. Cheerilee!?” The group repeated.
“She must’ve found her during the blizzard. She’s saved!” Sweetie Belle cheered.
“Are you sure about that?” Diamond Tiara said deflating their moment.
“Why do you always have to be like that!?” Sweetie Belle lashed out.
“No, Sweetie Belle, she’s right.” Applebloom said leaning over the table.
Eyes widened around the booth. The biggest rivals that have ever entered the halls of Ponyville Elementary were at this one moment agreeing with each other.
“Why would Ms.Cheerilee hide Scootaloo? Why would she ask Twilight for help and where in tarnation are they going!?” Applebloom questioned loudly.
Diamond Tiara winced as the gutterdrawl word “tarnation” entered her ears. Sweetie Belle keeps herself glued to the window as the two ponies marched further away from them.
“Maybe we should leave them be. If that is Scootaloo, then it’s best if we leave her to the adults.” Silver Spoon stated.
“We can’t, remember?” Applebloom whispered.
She craned her head closer to the table and the group follow suit.
“Once they help Scootaloo, they’ll send her away to an orphanage in another town!” Applebloom distressingly whispered.
“Didn’t the adults in town say they had a plan to help her out after her house burnt down?” Silver Spoon asked.
“That was the plan.” Applebloom frowned as she answered. “She heard about it and hightailed it before they even told her where she was going.”
“Grr! Isn’t there an orphanage in town we could see her in?” Sweetie Belle debated.
“Nope, and I would know. Daddy doesn’t like pickpockets running around.” Diamond Tiara retorted.
Sweetie Belle and Applebloom scrunch their faces at Diamond Tiara. She smiled.
“How would they even help her anyway? Both of them aren’t doctors, right?” Silver Spoon questioned trying to break the tension around the table.
“Well, Cheerilee is a teacher and Twilight is a scientist.” Sweetie Belle pondered.
“I don’t think that makes her a doctor that helps ponies.” Applebloom said.
“Yeah, scientists are usually out of their minds doing crazy experiments.” Diamond Tiara added.
“Whatever they’re up to, we have a right to know. Scootaloo is our friend!” Applebloom declared.
The crusading crew downed their hot cocoas, paid their tip and rushed out of the cafe. They spotted the two ponies in the distance and tailed behind them.
