homeless cat: mrrooww

“When you come across a homeless cat, a lot of the time, it’s doing rather well in the neighborhood! Cats, by their nature, can survive pretty well. A lot of the times too, there are people in the neighborhood who will put out some food for the cats. Usually the most humane thing you can do for these cats is not to take them to a shelter, but instead to put them in a Trap-Neuter-Release (TNR) program to keep cat populations down and decreases the likelyhood of health problems for the cat. I won’t explain it all, but you can find more information about them online and watch a video here. But do not take them to a shelter! This is the worst thing that you can do for a cat, as most of the shelters are already overcrowded and the cat is far more likely to get euthanized there. 

There’s also a difference between feral and stray cats. You cannot take in a feral cat, but strays are more accustomed and friendly to humans. Cheesecake here is a stray cat, which is why she lets us pet and catch her. We’ll talk to the landlord about keeping her as soon as we check in with the vet, but she’s looking pretty good so our hopes are up!”

// I’m not sure why I would do that? I’m not very comfortable with the idea of someone taking over the blog or passing on the work I’ve done. Even if I was, I’ve grown a bit attached to my own depictions of the characters, so I would have to know someone relatively well to trust them to take over the blog or share the blog with me. 

Asides from that, this blog is set up on an alternate email address as a primary tumblr blog. (My main art blog is on my main email address and not connected to this tumblr.) I don’t know if there is a way to change it to a secondary tumblr blog so that someone can co-host the tumblr with me. :/

The only other alternative option to closing down the blog officially is putting it on indefinite hiatus, which may as well be the same thing but with a false pretense of hope of the blog opening up. And I don’t think that’s fair to anyone. This ask blog has been open for 3 and a half years. And that’s a good amount of time for it to be going.

If I ever draw something that’s DHMIS related I’ll reblog it here, of course, for all of you to see, but once all the asks have been answered (which may take a month or so judging by all the asks that have accumulated), I will be officially closing. I want to do other stuff. Start another ask blog(?), write some fanfiction, open an etsy shop. My interests have moved on and I feel good about my decision.

“It’s definitely not an open thing! 

Neither of us wanted a ceremony, so we just signed the marriage documents, got rings, and that was about it. Paige’s been insisting that we have a ceremony sometime, so we may have one later if my parents can make it over from China.”

(There are a number of reasons, but the easiest answer to give is that I honestly haven't been taking care of the blog. My answers are few and far between and I’m not as interested on keeping up with the asks.

There’s that, and I’ve been wanting to draw more for the main blog.
