Weyoun, are you alright? I saw you a bit upset after you talked with Cerin about what she saw in the cave.

Weyoun: Oh, ha, that was... that was nothing.

Weyoun: But since you asked...

Weyoun: We're all worried about Cerin. Especially with her First Evaluation getting closer by the day— she can't go around saying things that could get her in trouble! Whether I agree or not, she needs to at least appear doctrinally compliant for the time being.

Weyoun: She doesn't seem to understand how dangerous things are for her. First Year Aspirants never do, that's why the developmental facilities lose so many at Evaluation. And I'm worried that even the Founder we serve won't be able to keep her safe.

Odo, I know your family can be—very very frustrating sometimes—a lot of the time, but I want to know something about being among your people that brings you some measure of joy. You deserve it, you're stronger than you know, and I wish you all the best in your future endeavours.

Odo: Oh, frustrating doesn't begin to cover the experience of battling thousands of years of cognitive dissonance. They still treat me as if I were a child, even though I saved their lives, and that's not even the worst of it.

Odo: But you're right. They're my family, and I love them. They've always been very curious about me, and very willing to allow me to formulate my own ideas, even if they don't agree with those ideas. The entire reason I was given this ship and this crew in the first place was because the Link wants to give me the opportunity to put my theories into practice.

Odo: Of course, I know some of them hope I'll realize how silly this is and settle down, but that's unlikely to happen. The sooner they realize that, the happier we will all be.

Odo, what do you think about the Vorta on your ship sleeping in nests now? You ever think about shifting into a kitty and joining them?

Odo: I think it's wonderful. They're meant to be social creatures, and it's been an honor to watch them bond so closely with one another.

Odo: As for joining them... well, I might, if invited, but I'd have to leave eventually to regenerate if I wanted to avoid collapsing in the nest. I've only ever exceeded my deadline once, and I never want to do so again.

Resolve, be honest. Did you like giving Cerin a ride down in the caves? Did it make you happy? Would you do it again? :D

Resolve: ...yes. On all counts.

Cerin: I knew it! I knew it I knew it. You were having fun.

Resolve: Of course I was, with my favorite Diplomatic Aspirant by my side. Just... next time, try not to fall.

Cerin: Try not to drop me.

Cerin: ...

Cerin: Weiyaita.

Kilana, I know you just got revived and everything's new and kind of a lot, but I have it on good authority the one you serve wouldn't mind, so, would you like a hug? If yes, I'm sure Weyoun or Vanath would be happy to give you one. I would but alas, I'm writing from a time and place in which I am unable to do so. This makes me sad. I would like to know you are getting hugs. (Weyoun, if she says yes, do the thing with the tail I've been told about.)

Kilana: I... I don't know who you are, but it really brightened my day to see this. It's been a hard adjustment. Weyoun's been helping as much as he can, and so has the Founder we serve, but I'm still waiting for something terrible to happen and I don't know how to convince myself that it won't.

Weyoun: I'm always here for you, zhimata. *Entwines tail with Kilana's*

Kilana: Oh— thank you, Weyoun. That does help me feel more stable.

Resolve: Airota, you are violating the most sacred law of our people every second you leave me on this ship. Please come pick me up.

Vanath: One would reassure Weiyaita, if permitted, that the Newly Ascended is in no danger. If being treated as a colleague rather than a deity were harmful to them, this servant wouldn't have been asked to do it.

Resolve: Oh, of course you're properly respectful to them.

Vanath: The manual you keep forgetting to read states that protocol must be observed with personnel who aren't part of the experiment, yes.

Resolve: Airota. Airota. Listen to me. Do you see what I have to deal with. If there were any sympathy anywhere in your matrix you'd have spared me this torment. Pleeeeease come get me.

Vanath, are you having fun? You seem to be having fun, especially since Cerin activated, and if you are, I hope you keep having fun because it is good for you. :D

Vanath: Vorta of all specializations are genetically predispositioned to enjoy their work, of course. It's somewhat like... you're Terran as well, right? Well, it's somewhat like how sheepdogs are bred to find fulfillment in herding.

Vanath: ...Well. Without the "bred" part, as we're blessed enough to be an artificially reproducing species.

Vanath: Anyway, to answer your question, yes, my duties are very fulfilling and enjoyable to me.

Weyoun: I remember how miserable you were at that other facility.

Vanath: ...well, yes, but...

Vanath: ...

Vanath: Alright. I suppose there's no harm in admitting preference— the one we serve has never forbidden it, after all. This assignment is... It's much more enjoyable than my last one.

Weyoun: And?

Vanath: And... and I'm overjoyed to finally have the opportunity to guide a new line's education.

Weyoun: And?

Vanath: ...And it's a nice change of pace to be teaching a Founder for once, rather than the other way around.

Vanath: No, the database says they're most likely from a part of their world that uses Imperial.

Cerin: My projected height is 5'4. So I won't be short forever.
