My don’t starve OCs’ stats and perks

Whitney the Kindhearted: 150 hunger, 150 health and 75 sanity

* Finds riches easier: higher change of gems and gold in staglamites, ruin statues and tumbleweeds.

* Is a skilled seamstress: Sewing kits never lost duration.

* Unnerved easily: Has the lowest sanity possible.

Whitner the Suspicious: 150 hunger, 125 health and 150 sanity.

* Faster than the average; has higher base speed.

* Walks on tippy toes: can walk past sleeping enemies without waking them up.

* Not the best fighter: lower base damage and health.

“F-fine...” Sitting up with a straight back while still holding on to his sleeves the hoodlum calmed himself with a somber sigh, looking ahead while collecting his thoughts in everything that troubled him.

“Everything I do just hurts everyone... I don’t even feel I can go home and be the same, I just want to get out of here... I’ve hurt everyone, I’m no good...”

Curling a bit up more he had to turn his head away out of conditioned shame and held his legs in to his chest, feeling the straining of tears by remembering better times.

“I miss my dad... He must be worried sick but he shouldn’t be! I’m a bad son and a bad brother, I’ve messed up too badly and I lost it at my sister a few days ago. She didn’t deserve that scolding and I don’t deserve to be happy... Everyone should just stay away from me...! I won’t hurt anyone that way...”

Shivering by the sudden touch it helped the thief in grey break the chains that made him keep all his emotions on the inside and soon enough a struggling sob left him, muffled due to his face hidden in the shirt fabric, Such kindness from someone who had no reason to help him…

Now embarrassed by crying in front of her he tried adamantly to avoid eye contact and attempted to dry the tears away, not achieving much by how they were quickly replaced.

A sad yet sympathetic smile came across Waven’s face as she watched him fumble about with his sleeves, trying to rid of any tears or sometimes traces of mucus from his face, and gave him another comforting rub on the shoulder before attemping to speak again.

“Would you… like to talk about it?” She asked gently, wishing she at least had a handkerchief to offer him.

“Do you really want to hear...” Now getting his sobbing under control the blond man gathered the courage to lift his head and show enough respect to look her in the eyes, looking tired to begin with from having had trouble sleeping. Maybe this could ease his mind and help his blurry vision.

“It’s really stupid and not that interesting..”

Having been quiet during the small pause he had expected her to move on like she ought to do but hearing the statement from her made the farmer son instantly lift his head by realizing how he had just tossed his issues on to a stranger who definitely didn’t need more hardships, eyes somewhat wide by the rash behaviour of his like always.

“O-oh, I didn’t mean to…!” Now pushed into a semi panicking state he curled up more in his seat as if to hide from her, not understanding why she remained nearby and now close enough for him to see her shaky image in the pond. “Just forget everything I said and move on… I’m fine, just go take care of yourself…”

She blinked a little at the sudden shift of tone and hesitated, feeling yet more concerned by the stranger’s troubling behaviour, but at the same time it only drew her closer to him.

“H-hey, its okay…” She said in a slightly softer tone, getting down onto her knees slowly just so she could be at level with him, “… you’re wrestling with a few things right now, I… I get it.”

Pulling at his pale locks the troubled man shut his eyes with a quiet whine and turned his head down to hide it in his arms folded over his knees, convinced that the kind words from the girl were wasted on him even if he really needed someone new to comfort him.

“I-I am fine, really... You should move on and prepare for dusk, you don’t want to waste time around someone like me.. I am just a hazard...”

Examining her reaction and how it shifted he mistook it for shame by having made an assumption and sighed a bit as it was something he did far too often in any situation, turning around to sit back down by the water and stare at his reflection with a stiff look on his face. “You’d better hurry along then… If you’re this cautious you shouldn’t be around a walking disaster like me.”

A girl, ready to crumble like a leaf in autumn, had few chances in this place and the last thing she needed was his toxic company. Yeah…

She may have easily turned around and done just that had it not been for his peculiar choice of words, describing himself in such a destructive manner… it easily struck a chord with the herbalist, and she lifted her head to look at him with a somewhat worried expression. First he gives up her satchel without putting up much of a fight, then he decides to little himself in such a way, it raised too many flags for her to ignore. “W-what do you mean?” She asked out of concern, taking a wary step towards the troubled young man, seeming to be drawn to the other’s pain.

His expression not changing much despite the surprise by her question the hoodlum kept his gaze fixed on his reflection while moving a hand up to rest his cheek on with the elbow to his leg, narrowing his eyes at the image he saw with a near hateful leer. Why was she still here..

“It’s pretty simple, really. I’m the bad guy who always ruins things and always get a hand to the face whenever I do it. I’m the one everyone nags on and doesn’t get his feelings considered. It’s always me and no fucking wonder! Now just leave before you catch my bad karma..”

I was hanging out on discord with some of my buddies again and I really wanted to see Waven spending some quality time with @artblocksucks‘ Whitney, so I drew them going clothes shopping together. She’d be such a mom to Waven, even in the modern au. <33

That old fraud really would trap anyone, wouldn’t he… Not aware of how his eyes gave some of him away the thief pondered slightly while keeping the bag in his hand to keep the situation under control, glancing at it before sighing deeply. It had been wrong of him to take it even if life here was a free-for-all. 

One had to choose to be kind here and so would he now… That was the least he could do to not involve the girl in more of his own bullshit.

Lifting his hand up to offer the sachel back he smiled as naturally as he could to at least seem friendly, his body language more open and relaxed. “Here.”

Waven waited with bated breath as she watched the thief’s face go through a series of complex emotions, not expecting him to believe her when she claimed the satchel as her own. But then his expression went from ponderous to strangely gentle in a matter of seconds, and instead of putting up a fight he simply offered the bag out to her… just like that, leaving the girl visibly confused.

This must be some kind of joke, a trap even, no one just gave up free supplies out here. It was either a matter of fighting for them, or leaving them, and yet.. here they were, stuck at an impasse. Her gaze fell upon the bag briefly before finding its way back up to the other’s face again, feeling that if she took her eyes off him for one moment he would quickly snatch the bag away, even if his expression told her otherwise.

Looks could be decieving after all, but she wouldn’t know of his true intentions unless she took this chance. And after a moment of hesitation she warily stepped closer to him, reached forward and quickly took the satchel by the straps, ready to pull away just in case he tried anything.

Keeping what little patience he had left in tact the young man waited for a response to remove the immense silence and merely blinked by seeing the herbalist take a hold of her belonging but not yanking at it whatsoever to claim it. He felt how her hands trembled, even hard enough to get his own palm to quiver, and an eyebrow rose by the connection to how she had been acting along with her tone. She was really scared of him?

Letting go of the purse he stood back to give her some space and rested his arms by his waist idlely while waiting still for her to speak up, tilting his head some with eyes narrowing just a bit. “You’re acting like I am going to hurt you and steal what’s inside... Is that so...”

Hearing the faint sound behind him got the young man flinching and the steps behind him stopping made him only frown bitterly, not yet moving as he tried to code who it could be. No way would it be his twin after such comments… Maybe her little nanny… Who else did he know… Well, time to just get it over with.

Turning his head with a slight glare his eyes shifted emotion right away as he had not expected to see a stranger at any rate, lips parting slightly while he sat frozen in his seat in complete silence. A girl.. What was she doing… Glancing down he now saw how she was inches away from the sachel and quickly put two and two together, taking the bag in his hand while standing up. “…”

Waven was stood there, frozen in an awkward position with her hand hovering just inches from the bag, but before she could try to take it from him he’d already got to his feet and snatched it away from her. A loud gasp leaving her in response, “W-wait!”

The Dane blinked some by having gotten a good look at her weird stance and flinched a bit by how she responded to him just standing up, eyes narrowed a bit in a scary expression before he loosened up both in face and body.

It had been seasons since he had met someone new and he could tell right away that this girl meant no harm at all, tilting his head some before looking down at the sachel in his palm. Well... He had something far better than a small butterknife.
