On a serious note, please don’t do this to artists or people in general. I understand being disappointed someone is doing something you may not be 100% attuned to, but honestly this sort of thing is petty and sad. When I answered the anon hate from before it wasn’t the only one I had gotten, it was only the most tame. The reaction people had reading it also surprised  me as well, telling me this is much more common than I thought. I know a handful of the messages were supposed to be taken as sarcastic and were very obvious about it but other were definitely written to be taken more personal.

I understand being nervous and afraid to send a message with your name attached, I really do.  I understand struggling to speak in social spaces outside of your comfort zone and the sense of safety being anonymous can bring. The mod of asktherainbowpony has been nothing but kind to me when I was struggling, so please reconsider what sort of messages you send as a knee-jerk reaction to being frustrated.

Some kindness goes a long way.

Honestly, Rick Rolling is the best practical joke ever. Like, there’s nothing offensive or mean  spirited about it. It’s just like “Oops you thought there would be something else here but it’s ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’.” which isn’t even a bad song. It’s fairly enjoyable to listen to. There’s no jumpscares, no screaming, no ill will. Just Rick Astley telling you he’s never going to give you up. I think that’s great. “You fell into my trap! Here, listen to this completely benign song that will have no negative effect on you.”
