Miss Yaha, is it possible to make someone fall in love with you?

Dear Bewitching, 

No. Not really, there’s no true way to lull someone into loving you. If they aren’t meant to love you, then it’s not meant to happen. Trying to force love can sometimes lead to hostile and volatile situations that become messy, explosive, and simply painful for everyone involved. 

Even if there is a way to make someone fall for you why would you want to do that? If someone does not love you as you love them then the situation will never work out, more so if they find out that you made them fall for you that would be a massive breach of trust between yourself and your partner. 

Relationships thrive on trust and love. Without trust there can not be love, and by shattering that bond it would likely fall to pieces left to pick up and cling to in hope of things being better. 

So no, I personally don’t believe there’s a way to make someone fall for you. I think the concept of making someone do that is wrong, and simply just immoral.

Hey Yaya. Ready Raider here! i must confess that I too share that sentiment of wanting to do it for fun. I just am worried that if I keep pestering my raid leader, he might get irritated.... so I may end up tanking. At least at the start. Thanks for the advice, though!

Phew, I’m glad that others understand that raiding should be fun! I think it’s really vital that others are able to enjoy harder content without feeling pressured one way or another. It keeps the game fun and inviting and helps keep from being burnt out from stress or sheer exhaustion. 

If you are tanking I hope that you are still having fun, and if you’re dpsing I hope you’re enjoying that too! Thank you for the follow up, I adore hearing how situations have gone after advice rolls out from me.

In fact I stated this many times that I didn’t want to do this, and wanted to stay out of the whole situation and just move on. But I’m not letting my name get dragged through the mud for the months I spent  under the assumption that someone wanted help.

Let me preface with I’m sorry this is on your dash, I know no one likes to see it and you’re welcome to unfollow me because of this…

So when I posted this I knew there was going to be a response. However, I wasn’t really prepared at all for the response I got. I was fully expecting to be hit with hate of some kind for speaking up on this matter, but that didn’t wind up happening. 

What happened instead was that FOURTEEN separate people messaged me both on tumblr and on Discord with their own cases from time spent around LunacyCard / AetherGlitch. MOST elected to remain anonymous, but some did give me their screenshots to contribute to this post as long as their names were left out of this actual follow up.

Where in the world is Yayaha Yaha?

Good Sun readers! I know I have been gone for some time, and I do hope you’ll be forgiving on my absence as I move to explain it. As some of you may know this column you see around in City-States is not my first job. I am an Ul’dahn born Lala whose family owns and operates “Lunar Goldworks.” We are a fairly widely known group of goldsmiths that strives to one day beat out the Manderville family as the biggest Goldworks in Hydaelyn. 

I am the eldest daughter and the rightful heiress to the company and have been working with my father in taking over properly come the next spring. I currently operate as the international branch leader out in Hingashi and oversee a lot of trade and design for the eastern collections. 

Normally I’d be able to balance my crazy work schedule with answering asks as well, but things got… a bit complicated. I had plans for the last while to build my Fiancee Fai a home for us in Shirogane. Unfortunately construction took up quite a bit of my time, but the effort was more than certainly worth it! (See the house here! )

But that isn’t the biggest piece of news to come from my absence. 

My fiancee and I adopted a daughter!

She’s quite young, but with the coming fall she had her first day of school recently! Her name is Luluchi, my dear Fai found her abandoned on the streets of Ul’dah and after nearly a moon of tracking down her mother and…. a rather unpleasant conversation with the the woman we decided to adopt her as our own. 

It’s… a bit of a sad story, the mother abandoned her daughter for she couldn’t take care of her anymore, and we couldn’t allow such a sad history to take place for little Lulu. So I hunted down some adoption paperwork, got in contact with the council and recently it was mad official that she would be joining our family!

My time will be more scattered because of this, having two jobs is one thing, but having two jobs and a six year old has thrown a bit of a wrench in the works!

Thank you all for being so understanding, and if everything works out I should be posting every Lightsday to get a normal schedule rolling!

Heya Yaya. I used to roleplay, but I haven't had a chance to in a while because life got hectic. I'm on Balmung, but I don't know where to start to get back into roleplay. Have any tips?

Dear Returner,

Let me apologize for this late reply! I too had my life get a bit hectic but I’m coming back full swing every Sunday to get replies out! 

I actually have quite a few tips on this matter! It’s important to start small when coming back to RP as to not overwhelm yourself and keep the desire from RPing from returning. Pick a smaller event be it a Bar or something like a café and go by yourself or bring a friend! You don’t have to RP if you don’t want to, send a message to who’s running it that you’d like to sit and watch for a bit and ease yourself into RPing as the night goes on. 

Starting with fluff/non-vital story RPs helps to push the desire to RP and eventually moves to wanting to make your own story, or go to events more! 

Build your character up on the side! Write little quirks to yourself like something they’re allergic to, or a word they will always say wrong. Give yourself something to be excited about and want people to figure out eventually in RP. Make something you can be excited over! It pushes the drive to want to use your character and introduce them to new people! 

Think of the hard questions! Like what do they smell like? What’s their favorite color? What kind of home did they grow up in? Are both parents still alive or did one or both pass? If you’re struggling on coming up with a background consider looking into some D&D resources! I enjoy the craziness that can come from rolling a background in things like “Xanthar’s Guide to Everything” because it helps give me a fantastic building block to go off of!

Remember RP is supposed to be fun! Don’t over-stress yourself and try to have fun with it!

Hey Yaya, I have a question for you-- it concerns raiding, or more specifically, the class I want to raid as in the coming patch. My raid team realllly, reallllly, reallllly wants me to tank. But I don't particularly want to. I much prefer dps. As a tank, I seem to have hit a wall when it comes to self improvement, but with dps I am constantly improving and seeing new ways of doing things. I am competent with both.... should I stress that I want to be a dps, or bite the bullet and tank?

Frankly I’ve found that something wildly important about raiding is the fact that you need to be doing something you enjoy. Raiding is stressful, I raid myself now and again and as a healer I find my mind melting from the sheer amount of keeping up I have to do- BUT I enjoy it so I don’t mind the mind melting or the stress that comes from it because I’m doing something I love. 

I personally think that you should tell your group you’d like to be dps because you think you’d get the most enjoyment from it all, and it’d allow you to hold interest in raiding because you’d constantly be striving to improve. You don’t have to feel locked into a situation, nor should you be! If you want to dps I say you should be allowed to and allow someone else to strive to get better at tanking. Part of raiding in my own opinion is getting better at a class you already enjoy! 

I hope this helps you and you get a chance to DPS!
