"You must be Peggy...Arnold. Am I right? I'm Abigail Adams. John's wife." -askabiadams
“I am,” Peggy said, her voice confident, but guarded, it was so hard to gauge how the people she encountered were going to react to her and it was easier to hide the cards in her hand than it was to put herself out there. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Mrs. Adams.”
“That’s awful.” Abigail told her. “People should have the same opportunities as the others. We actually have another party next week. Do you want to come? We’re reviewing this book by Jane Austin.”
“It’s more me being afraid to leave the baby behind, I know that he’s fine, but at the same time he’s my only child and the thought of leaving him behind is a little uncomfortable.” She paused for a moment, and then decided it would be worth it, “I’ve never read anything by her, which book should I be looking for? And do you think I’ll have time to read it before next week?”
"Oh, don't worry about that." Abigail told the other. "I have a son and a daughter who can babysit for anyone. JQ even gave Polly Jefferson a lollipop once."
