Okay so lemme see what the heck is so good about angst. As usual, only if you have time and list write this. If you don’t feel like it it’s totally fine! The kiss tasted salty, you couldn’t tell if it was the tears running down his face, or the the ones tumbling over yours.

“I’m sorry.” You whispered against his lips. “I don’t want to go, you know I don’t want to go.”

“Then stay.” Thomas insisted. “Stay here, my mom would take you in, you know it.”

You let a watery chuckle escape your lips. “I love my family, Thomas, and I don’t really have a choice. I’m moving.”

“Are you sure we can’t make long-distance work?” He questioned.

“I’ll call you every day.” You replied, having second thoughts on the conversation you’d had with him the previous day.

“No you won’t.” He smiled weakly, “You’ll be too busy studying.”

You knew he was right. You’d forget to call him someday. “This won’t matter someday.” You shook your head, “We’re high school sweethearts, someday we’ll be laughing about how emotional we were at separate wine tasting parties.”

“I really love you.” Thomas replied, electing to ignore most of what you said. You’d never seen him so emotional.

“I love you too.” You responded. 

Your hand fell on the door knob, the other one slipping from Thomas’ grip to land on the handle of your suitcase.

“I’ll never forget you Virginia.” You said, deciding on the nickname right them, though you thought you’d never use it again.

“And I, you, New York.” He answered elegantly.

I hope this was clear, but if it wasn’t, this is meant to be a high school au where Thomas and the reader are in love and all and they think it’s the bee’s knees but then the reader has to move to New York with their family (for whatever reason) and it’s all sad :’( so yeah. Maybe they cross paths later on idk ;) there’s room for continuation is all I’m gonna say. I hope you liked it! Sorry I didn’t respond for literally weeks. But I should be back on a little more from now on… idk.
