If you catcall (âĄâżâĄâż)
YOU WILL GET BUCKED (ÊâżÊâż) pretty ponies have no time for your bullshit.
Available as a shirt at my Society6 and PAOM ~
Oh, hey! Another person using ponies not only to spread the same kind of man-hating, radical âfeminismâ the creator of this easily-identifiable character is openly against, but theyâre also trying to profit off of it, to boot.
Maybe Hasbro should be made aware of the kinds of things being forced into the mouths of the characters that they hold the copyright to, especially when theyâre also using thinly-veiled euphemisms for vulgarity that parents probably wouldnât be in the mood for trying to explain to their little girls. On top of that, there are no filters that keep an image such as this from easily being found through Googleâs Safe Search. So much for pretending to give a shit about what children see on the internet, you repulsive little hypocrite.
You just go ahead and keep being the reason why more and more women are abandoning the label of âfeminismâ.
This is stupid, you are just looking for excuses to attack feminists.Â
This is a misandriac t-shirt:
The one we are discussing is not. Guys aren't being attacked for being guys or doing guy things, they are being attacked for harassing someone. It's not even an inherently feminist t-shirt, let alone radically, anyone can complain about being harassed and threaten violence, not that a t-shirt threat is meant to be taken seriously. If you substitutive catcall with any other behavior that's equally annoying and rude, like only non-gendered, the meaning would be more or less the same. I bet you wouldn't be complaining if the t-shirt was referring to shit black or disabled people had to deal with, you are just looking for any opportunity to take the piss, which just makes you and other MRAs look like the fools you are.
Also, pretty sure it's not a euphemism for "fucked" in this context, there is nothing implying that and it doesn't even make sense. Sounds more like it's just using the equivalent of "punched" for ponies. The mouth piece argument is equally inane, it's perfectly befitting of her character and characters are meant to be used as mouth pieces, it's more interesting then plain text. There is nothing objectionable about this t-shirt unless you are the type of guy who decides to catcall random women, or even worse an advocate for those guys because apparently they need people to advocate for them. *SMH*
Are you a brony?
I used to call myself a brony, and I suppose I still am. But the negative connotation to the word does make me kind of uncomfortable, so it isnât necessarily a word iâd use to describe myself either. And iâm not a huge fan of pegasister either, because to me brony was meant to be unisex and pegasister needlessly splits fans into their genders(given that those genders fall in the binary).
But yes, I am a fan of MLP, long story short :)
Bro clearly indicates a gender though. Bro has been used as a short version of Brother for a very long time. It isnât gender neutral. It is gendered as masculine.
Pegasister was a response to that gendering.
MLP fan is the gender neural term. Anyone can be a fan.
Brony was meant to specifically indicate a masculine person who was a fan of My Little Pony. Because itâs a show for little girls and to enjoy or identify with the feminine is degrading.
While bro is obviously a shortening for brother, many people use it in a gender neutral way because the term evolved away from itâs origins and is now distinct from the the word brother. As for brony, here is the origin:Â http://i2.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/original/000/551/823/0e4.png notice there is absolutely nothing about gender or masculinity being mentioned, he just called the other user a bro because their friends and male is assumed to be the default gender on 4chan. The term wasnât made to separate them from female fans, it was to separate them from other 4chan users, all the 4chan groups make up their own names for themselves. Etymology is a complex thing, and just because some term has a gendered root does not mean itâs a sexist term. Â
You cannot degender a word that obviously refers to gender.
"he wasnât saying the original brony was a man, he just called him a man because he assumed he was a man!"
I know. You would think if they weâre gonna use an example it would actually illustrate their point.
Do you guys insist on proclaiming how ignorant you are? âYou cannot degender a word that obviously refers to gender.â Well, why not? You seem to not know anything about linguistics. Um, yes, you can, language evolves and it happens all the time. If not, I guess that means vandal and barbarian are racist terms, because the former is the name of an ethnic group and the latter originated from a roman racial slur for germanic people. The meaning of words changes based on their use, geeks donât bite the heads of chickens anymore, and relics of their past meaning does not restrict their current meaning. Are you opposed to the term âhysteriaâ because itâs root is the Greek word for uterus and it originated as a sexist explanation for behavior and latter an outdated, sexist âdiseaseâ? Itâs only obviously refers to gender if you insist on making it do so, human isnât gendered despite ending in man, and heck, even âHasbroâ contains âbroâ. It came from âHassenfeld Brothersâ, but they arenât in charge now, one of the current top 3 is a women, and you can hardly call a company gendered. Some people use brony in a gendered fashion, some donât, but if everyone uses it a non-gendered fashion it becomes non-gendered.Â
â"he wasnât saying the original brony was a man, he just called him a man because he assumed he was a man!"" I said no such thing, so stop with the bullshit paraphrasing. What I said was be called him a bro (because dudes call each other bro when they like each other), and added pony to the front to describe him as a pony fan, itâs distinguishing from other bros, not from other pony fans. I didnât not say anything about the gender of the original brony, which is an impossible thing to measure anyway due to vagueness in the definition of brony and the fact itâs impossible to know who was the first fan. The point is that the key aspect of the term brony in itâs origin is the pony part, not the ambiguously gendered term âbroâ, where bro is just being used as a synonym for âfriendâ in the context, Mindswipeâs gender is irrelevant to the gender of the term. Itâs absolutely not meant to claim there is anything wrong with being feminine (they love a show about female ponies, for fucks suck, names like Sparkle Fizzlelove just reek of hating all things feminine), that was something pulled out of gofdragonâs ass. If you ignore the fact I said âand male is assumed to be the default gender on 4chan.â, the meaning stays the same, itâs just clearer.
I wasnât giving an example, I was pointing out the specific origin of the phrase and explaining what was going on. I wasnât illustrating a point there, but you donât seem to understand what my point is anyway.
So if youâre a girl an want to call yourself a pegasister for whatever reason, go ahead and do so. You can even encourage others to do so, just donât go around spewing BS, making assertive claims like youâre an expert when you are just ignorant on the subjects being discussed (here linguistics and certain subcultures).Â
If you prove my point any harder the earth is gonna start wobbling like a weeble. That would be an example of hyperbole.
So. âA Brony searching for a Pegasister?â Really. So Brony is totally not a gendered term at all.
Ok so lets break this down:
Vandal was once a group of people known for sacking cities. Over the course of  two thousand years it has changed to mean anyone who destroys private property. Such a change. Such complex etymology.Â
Barbarian basically means the same thing today it did in the past but is most commonly used to refer to native peoples. Thus a racist term.Â
Geek well that is interesting, that isnât actually a definition of the word from its inception but only itâs most recent two slang uses. Slang or common language is the most versatile and evolves much faster than other more formal uses of language. The modern usage originated with sideshow wild men. Today this term is still very commonly refers to a male dominated sub culture.Â
Hysteria, really, hysteria. Ok, did you know that this word and derivatives of this word are still more commonly used to refer to women? Apparently not or you wouldnât have tried to use this as an example. Itâs also pretty ableist so yeah, I have a problem with this word.Â
Hasbro refers to the original owners who were brothers. Just because they have a woman in a high role in the company does nothing to make âbroâ less a shortening of brother, which is a gendered word. Also this company only fully invested in toys for little girls in 1982 with the acquisition of My Little Pony. The company has been many times called out for itâs sexist toy marketing and design.Â
Human, while yeah it has become accepted as referring to all people. It is a heavily gendered term. It is derived from Man, it makes the assumption that Man is the default and all other people are derived from man.Â
I am not insisting on gendering these words that are gendered they are already gendered.Â
Someone missed the point. Guess you need to start referring to people as huperprodigies as human is apparently still gendered.Â
PS. Bro is slang and has always been slang. Your analysis is not helping your argument. Â

EVERYONE WHO REBLOGS THIS WILL GET A CUTE PICTURE OF APPLEJACK IN THEIR INBOX
I will do every. Single. One.
Give me my damn picture.
There are many other differences between the two that are not covered by this comic - for example, humour is ultimately controlled (like everything else) by the society we live in, so some things will fall flat as a piece of âdark comedyâ because they resonate too closely with societyâs discomforts or issues. Nothing exists in a vaccum, and free speech is not an excuse to make people view your artwork is if it does.
Humour isnât as simple as youâd think! Itâs a complex thing and can be difficult to understand, and if you are interested I reccomend researching popular dark comedy movies and series and expanding your knowledge!
Thank you.
Though a lot of dark humor derives it's humor from the contrast between the character and the horrific deeds they are doing, it makes it even more horrific. I guess the key is that effect isn't really in play with Molestia, in Molestia the problem is that what Molestia is doing isn't actually portrayed as evil at all, while in dark humor what they are doing is clearly evil (though in the world it's in it might be portrayed as not evil or even good, again to add another layer of horrible, or to mock the real world, or something, but the key is the author is clearly showing it's evil). Anyway, Molestia isn't really like normal exploitative humor, at least not how you explain it, as those are usually based on the exploited group being portrayed in an offensive manner, like a gag about a mentally retarded person, while here you are focusing on Molestia herself, not the exploited group, which would be rape victims.Â
