Markipurr’s Guide To Being A Good Markiplite

The original post has 3000+ notes but since some people are new here and seem to be unaware that we’ve been doing this for awhile now, here’s a condensed version:

Okay actually in light of the divide in the fandom about what constitutes harassment versus fun, I’ve decided to put together a guide for our Youngipliers:

PRESENTING: MARKIPURRS GUIDE TO BEING A GOOD MARKIPLITE

Do: Enjoy fanarts, communicating with various artists, and making friends.

Don’t: Harass artists to make nsfw art. Pester the muns of the various Darkipliers. Send creepy, gross, or disturbing messages to Darkiplier artists because you’re thirsty over their characters.

Do: Make art, crafts, and any other creative elements. We want to see what you make and if you’re lucky Mark might see it too!

Don’t: Tag Mark in nsfw art. C’mon. Seriously.

Do: Protect Mark’s sense of privacy and respect his boundaries.

Don’t: Try to find out where he lives, reblog harmful rumors, ask him if he has a girlfriend, try to find out if he has a girlfriend, speculate about the existence of girlfriends in general. It’s not any of our business, leave it alone. Also don’t send creepy messages that you yourself would find disturbing if you were to receive them. Empathy counts.

Do: Tag your funny/interesting Markiplier posts

Don’t: Tag Mark because you want him to pay attention to you/threaten to hurt yourself if he doesn’t/expect him to reply instantly and assume he doesn’t care if he doesn’t. He has 7 million subscribers and not a lot of extra time, that’s no excuse to be manipulative.

Do: Ask permission for a hug if you’re lucky to get to go to a meet up

Don’t: Grab or tackle him.

Do: Listen and respect Mark and others when you are told no.

Don’t: Insist repeatedly until he gives in. It’s fucking wrong and not funny.

Do: Connect with other Markiplites! We’re a friendly bunch and want to help those who need it.

Don’t: Become so hyperfocused on receiving affirmation from Mark himself that you lose sight of finding happiness in other things. It’s good to get inspiration from him, but don’t let that be your only reason for being.

Do: *says to friend in a personal convo* I am of an adult age and greatly appreciate Mark’s physical attributes and would enjoy the pleasure of his company in a intimate setting if he were to consent to it. Please enjoy my tastefully erotic Darkiplier art. *adjusts monocle*

Don’t: *goes on Mark’s Facebook* LOL MARK PLZ FUK ME I WAN UR BABIES. (Note: THIS IS ESPECIALLY IMPORTANT IF YOU ARE UNDERAGE. GO DO YOUR HOMEWORK AND STOP BEING WEIRD.)

This is just what I have for now, please guys feel free to add as you see fit.

Do: sit quietly at any event Mark gets the honor of hosting

Don’t: think you’re being funny or original in cat calling Mark at said events show. If you wouldn’t do it at any other awards show why is it all of a sudden OK -and you put a tick mark in the column of why Mark shouldn’t get asked back for such stuff

Do: Treat Mark and his friends with respect! He knows them on a personal level, you do not!

Don’t: Make fun of Wade, Bob, Yamimash, Jack, etc. It is not your place. You do not know them personally. If you become friends with them, you should still, as with all of your friends, treat them with respect!

Do: Give Mark non-nsfw fanart/gifts if you get the chance to meet him.

Don’t: Force them into his hands, beg him to sign things, give him nudes, or sexually, verbally, or physically harass him.

Do: Politely invite him to gatherings of people in public places. If he declines, respectfully accept that he does not wish to go.

Don’t: Repeatedly beg him to go somewhere with you, ask him to go to your hotel room, or tell him that if he doesn’t go with you somewhere, you’ll hurt yourself.

DO NOT SAY “SHUT UP WADE” TO WADE. ONLY MARK AND MOLLY GET TO SAY THAT. BE NICE TO THE WADE.

Updated to add:

Do: Be thoughtful, considerate, and polite to people you disagree with. If you cannot do that then leave the other party alone.

Don’t: Send death threats, tell people to kill themselves, or send any kind of hate or threatening message. SERIOUSLY, THAT IS UNACCEPTABLE AND UNBECOMING OF A MARKIPLITE.
