Rachel Barbra Berry Welcome to the page of the one and only Rachel Berry. I am nineteen years old and I am currently residing in the beautiful New York City, with my best friend and I am lucky enough to attend the wonderful NYADA. You may recognise me as the co-captain of New Directions, or as the winner of the winter showcase. Either way, feel free to browse my page and ask me questions. I can imagine, Yale is completely stressful but in a way that I would never want to change. I’m sure it’s the same for you but I guess that’s what it’s like when you attend such a sought after college. I know, I hold on to some of the past but sometimes I feel it’s healthier to let it go too. 

Sounds exhausting but I’m sure they are talking sense when they mention slowing down - but I also know how you’re the only person who won’t take it slow, not when you’re finally getting your dream. I have one final assignment to finish but perhaps in a week or two? I’m actually eager to see you all, not just Santana as sometimes I can live without her snark even if it is usually entertaining.

Exactly, it's the price we pay for attending the best colleges possible. 

Slowing down gets you nowhere... what is that saying? "Go hard or go home", I think that very much applies within this situation. I need as much experience as possible to account for in my memoirs, of course. That should be fine, I'm heading to Lima this week because my dads have got my family over and they want to congratulate me in person, but I'll be in New York, as always afterwards. 

And hey, I'm the one who lives with her, you never suffered that pain.

Too late now. The keeping in contact with those still trapped in Lima point was a good one as well. Especially when everyone is usually so busy they don’t even get on regular social media. Which is kind of strange, when you think about it. Plenty of time for Tumblr but not for Facebook. Hmm…thoughts?

Perhaps not, but people do not know what goes on behind closed doors. I could be lying. 

Perhaps Facebook is too formal; I know I have my dads on my Facebook, too, so of course, I wouldn't upload pictures of me and you drinking wine, for example. And if I wrote a paragraph on Facebook, people would think it strange but it looks nicer on Tumblr than one word answers you get on Facebook statuses.

I didn’t really read this, but I obviously know what it’s about. But I figured I’d give you another congrats on here. It’d kinda look bad if I didn’t.

Well, you’ll have to wait until opening night to get your present from me. I don’t want to send it in the mail in case it gets lost or something.

You might be able to give it to me in person soon, should I travel to Lima. My dads want to throw a family party with my grandparents and everyone else, and I'm not sure I want to let them down. Maybe one weekend soon, I shall see you?

FINN: laughed, totally in agreement with her. "I think Burt is tone deaf, and I'm pretty sure he could sing it better than the original," he joked. "If you get the chance, you should. I mean, it'd be worth it to brag to everyone. I bet your dads would want to celebrate with you... And you can always stop by here and say hi."

RACHEL: grinned and played with a thread on her jeans before she nodded her head, "Perhaps I will come to Lima soon, at least... well, I need to see my dads, I am sure they want to be hug me and everything." The thought of seeing Finn was enough to make her want to go to Lima right then, she wanted to see the pride on his face, the sparkle in his eyes that showed he always knew she would make it. She couldn't say it out loud though, after all, they weren't dating and she couldn't see a near future that would involve them dating.

I have the attention span, I just don’t have the energy with school keeping me busy 24/7 but I’m sure you can understand that. I’m not really the same person I was back there but I’m glad you can still hold on to the past and use that to emphasis how far you’ve come…but seriously, I’m really happy for you. I’m glad you’ve made it already, not that any of us really thought it would take you long. 

I should hope so and I hardly think I was much competition for you - we were always competing in different battles back in high school. Anyway, is anything else going on with you? I’m thinking of making actual use of my metro pass and planning a visit to see you all soon.

Of course, NYADA both makes me exhausted and keeps me up at night due to the amount of stress it cases. I cannot imagine what Yale must be like. And if I didn't hold onto the past, I doubt I would be the person I am right now because it's who made me the person I am. Plus, there's good things and bad things about high school I would never care to forget. 

Absolutely nothing else - my dance teacher is giving me hell, as usual... work is exhausting along with college and everyone thinks I should slow down now that I have to start rehearsals. I'm looking forward to the challenge - how about you? That sounds amazing, you should do it before I start rehearsing so I have the time to spend time with you, although I am sure it is Santana you will be wanting to see the most.

For those of you who’re wondering why I’m wake at nearly 2:30AM on a school night — don’t worry. I’ve got a lot of last minute papers to tackle, and it seems my muse only strikes after hours. Is it the result of me drinking coffee at night? Maybe. But I won’t say sorry when I’m getting my work done. The crash will come later, but for now, I’m soldering on.

I had, like, no homework this entire week. Now that it’s the weekend, I get loaded with it. Why do teachers feel the need to pile it on so all I’m doing is focusing on school during the only two days of the week that I have off?

Wow, I see some things never change with you - you’re still capable of writing one of the longest social updates possible. I won’t pretend that I sat here and read through every little detail of it but I got the just of it - so congratulations on landing your first big break on Broadway. I know how much that means to you and I’m sure you’ll rock it when the show finally reopens. You’ll have to send some of your lovely old school friends some tickets to come and show you some official support on opening night.

As I told Santana, that was a cut down version - seriously, Quinn, I would have thought your attention span would have been able to withstand the few paragraphs that was. Either way, thank you very much - you can get a thank you for trying to push me down in those early years of high school but also a thank you for being my friend. You know, when you realized that talent cannot be removed by an ice cold slushy and cruel names. 

Official support meaning the Rachel Berry fan club? You will be getting a ticket as soon as I can get my hands on them, I'd love for you all to be there. Especially you, considering you always gave me the competition I needed to fight harder.

Thanks, Rach, I really appreciate it. At least, no matter where I end up, I’ll have a few great reasons to visit New York. I know it’d be a lot of work to live there, to try and make my way in whatever career path suits me best…it’s a lot, but it’s still pretty tempting even if it’s just as scary. I know that I’m not you or Kurt or Santana, but who knows? Maybe I could surprise myself and finally find that spotlight I’ve been hungry for.

Yeah, I never saw a lot of appeal there, either. I think the most I ever drank was at that insane party you threw a few years back—never again. I can’t say I know too many ‘lesbian movies’ so I’m not sure what you’re talking about, but I guess that wouldn’t be everyone’s cup of tea. As for horror movies? I don’t mind those so much; actual good ones are hard to find but the bad ones can be fun to watch too. Don’t worry though, I wouldn’t want to make you watch something you weren’t into, how is that fun for everyone?

You're the only one who can work out what is best for you, and if that's New York, you know you have some very willing friends who would love to be able to spend more time with you. 

I don't really like horror movies, to be honest. The thought of scaring myself into not being able to sleep seems a little idiotic, if you ask me. Musicals are always a hit in this apartment.

I don't know what you're talking about, that final version has been cut down and edited due to complaints about the length of my posts. In fact, I think that was rather short considering when I first wrote it out it was much, much longer. It's not my fault that  people have the attention span of gnat.

It's time to make a big announcement!

As some of you may know, but not everyone as I didn't advertise it due to my over-excitement in other auditions which ended up getting me nowhere - about two months ago, I decided to audition for the role of Fanny Brice in the Broadway revival 'Funny Girl'. Now, for those of you who know me even a little bit will know my obsession with a) Barbra who played Fanny Brice both on stage and on screen, and b) Funny Girl which is more amazing than I could ever put into words and finally, c) Broadway. 

Alas, after audition after audition, getting through each and every stage, I started to wonder if my dream could actually become a reality because I overheard the director expressing concerns over my young age. However, at nineteen, I am hardly the youngest ever lead actress and yes, it is an iconic role and yes, it would be my first Broadway role but everyone starts somewhere. And Rachel Berry will only accept starting from the top. 

However, I never started to doubt myself and my abilities, so I went out there and I showed them that I was the best, and the only person for that role. And that is why I am making this announcement - you are all looking at a future Broadway star (we all knew this would happen, suffice to say, to everyone who chucked a slushy in my face because my dreams were bigger than yours... well, you'll feature in my auto-biography in many years to come). I will be playing Fanny Brice in Funny Girl - and don't forget, one of those songs won us our first ever sectionals to all those New Direction members out there. 

Flowers and cards of appreciation and congratulations can be sent to my home address. And yes, they are expected.

Good point, I guess that kind of defeats the purpose. And I don’t know! It’s just a nice thing to feel and hear you guys say, I guess. Maybe that’s silly but there you have it. Anyway, thank you, that really means a lot—I mean, they do say that if you can make it there, you can make it anywhere so I’m definitely not writing it off.

How classy. But that’s you guys, you’ve never struck me as the crazy party-going types anyway (which isn’t a dig in the slightest). Honestly, that sounds like a pretty fun way to spend an evening—we’ll have to see about a movie night like that when I visit or on a more regular basis if I actually start living in NYC.

Well, you're always welcome here, Tina - talented people belong in New York, it's how the city thrives. And exactly, New York may not be the easiest place to make it with so many people competing for the same spot but at least you know that if you do it here, the world is your oyster. 

Oh, that's true, I don't see the point in getting so drunk I forget my own name and stumble into the bathroom and ruin my throat by vomiting. Where is the fun in that? Oh! Movie night is so much fun, just don't let Santana have a say or we'll end up watching some weird lesbian movie (I've seen two recently and at least one of the lesbians ends up being a psychopathic murderer, which has kind of put me off the movies if that's all people can come up with) or she'll make me sit through a horror movie.

FINN: beamed, letting out a happy sigh. "Well, you've done amazing at every song you've sang, let's be real here," he smiled. "Except that Miley Cyrus one you sang when you were sick, but ya know, that's another story," he laughed. "Good, you better," he said, a teasing tone very evident in his voice.

RACHEL: "It still sounded better than the original," She pointed out, with a small smirk as she ran her fingers through her hair and took a deep breath, slightly in disbelief still about the entire thing. "This is going to be amazing, I kind of want to go back to McKinley and rub it in everyone's faces."
