Hello, my name is Cabernet, and I am the proprietor of the Royal Canterlot Winery! Whether you need to pick up a bottle for a special occasion, are stopping in for a drink on your way home from work, or just want a little company, I'm happy to oblige!

No Update Tonight

I am dreadfully sorry to say that there won’t be an update tonight. My Monday D&D game (which was great!) went long, and the update I started working on is more technically difficult than I had originally imagined, meaning that I haven’t been able to get it done before bed. But don’t worry, tomorrow I’ll finish it up and get back to posting! On the bright side, I can happily say that the sketches for the first few followers are already done for the contest. There is still a lot to do, but it’s been fun drawing your characters!

It’s also worth mentioning that I’m frighteningly close to 100 followers, so if anyone has a suggestion for what they’d like to see once I hit that (it will have to wait until after the 50 follower milestone is done!) I’d love to hear them! Anyway, for those who have stuck around to read all this, thank you for your patience. You guys are great.

No answer today, I stayed up far too late last night and I’m exhausted and couldn’t get any of the questions to do what I wanted (nothing against the questions - you guys are amazing! - blame my drawing hand), so instead I decided I would practice drawing Cabernet with her wings out. Expect them to change as I figure things out. I rambled a little, so to save you all from having to see it I’ll hide it under a “read more”. Don’t worry, you’re not missing anything important! One last thing, for my American friends, Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you have a fantastic day.

I’m not in love with this picture, but I’m putting it up anyway because I made this blog to draw horses and gosh darn it I’m not going to stand in my own way just because things didn’t turn out right. So if you’re sitting on a drawing you’re not quite happy with or you’re worried people won’t love it, stop being your own worst enemy and put it out there!  Sorry, I must be more sleep deprived than I thought! The contest ends tomorrow night, so if you’re still thinking about submitting a reference don’t miss your chance! A ton of really cool looking designs have already been sent in and I can’t wait to get to drawing them. Yay!

But I shouldn’t complain, you can do a lot with a pair of hooves and a little creativity! [15 Questions Remain] (A quick one tonight, I stayed out late tonight and watched Fantastic Beasts. We hit 50 followers! Yay! I say “we” because this last week has been amazing. so many people have sent me such encouraging and friendly messages, it’s really been a fantastic experience. So, in celebration of hitting a milestone and for how amazing the community has been to me, I’m going to have a contest! Starting now and ending on Friday, November 26th, 2016, at 11:59 EST, I’m going to start putting together an image of the Royal Canterlot Winery bustling with customers. Those customers will be some of you! All you need to do is reblog this post with a reference of the OC you’d like to see visiting the Royal Canterlot Winery, and I’ll add you to the picture! I’m not expecting too many entrees, but if something silly happens I’ll choose as many as I can handle with a random number generator. So it’s not really a “contest” per say, but I couldn’t think of a better word. New followers are, of course, also welcome to enter.
