(Starting 8/17/13)) I have come here under the impression that I may reconnect with fellow Cybertronians who knew Cybertron as I did, circa pre-civil war. ooc: Haaaa this is such a mushy post, I'm sorry for being such a softie, ya'll, I know it's unbefitting of Cyc XD It was amazing going around in costume at BotCon, and this is pretty much how most of the kids reacted--initial terror, followed by either confusion or contentment when I'd say something in my girly voice to try 'n make 'em feel less scared cx And yes, a few lil kiddies did in fact hold my hand, a few leaned back on my leg armor, and one even reached up at me with 'grabby hands' like he wanted me to pick him up, it was adorable XD I always knew Cyc would be good with kids, no one believed me :l Overall, though... I guess most kids were too scared to come near me lD;
Ohoho, I messed with a group of guys in an elevator (which this costume looked evil in, btw, it was all dark with the red LED eyes glowing +_+) by suddenly giggling in the highest-pitched tone I could muster up, I think I may have traumatized them... >3> Should you like to read more about my first BotCon and all the lovely folks I met, ye can read below! It was so much fun walking around and startling people--there was a scrapbook expo going on in the convention room next door, so all these old ladies were walking around, many of which I had some entertaining encounters with (I recall having earned a giggle from one lady when I growled at her (perhaps somewhat suggestively, because I'm pretty sure she was checkin' out my afterburners, but let's not dwell on that :l ). I regret nothing. >3> *poker face*) I even got mugged by a group of what must've been 4-foot tall women who wanted pictures and had their arms wrapped all around me. Definitely positive that none of them realized I was a chick xD
It took me a little getting used to, but eventually I got used to the costume and came up with a menacing, turtle-paced waddle, and that's how I walked. Everywhere. It took so long. To get anywhere. XD; O'course I also came up with a nifty stalking/lunge walk, as some of you may recall in your nightmares >lD~ Serious, the more scared someone would look when they saw me, the closer I got (and the louder their terrorized laughter got >lD), and wiggling my claws had a surprisingly strong effect xD I even got this big buff guy to square up against me, maybe being taller in my platform boots gave me a lil too much confidence...
I'll never forget the amazing time I had, I met so many awesome people and learned so much! ;3; I got to chat up all the amazing artists in the artist alley, got some excellent advice that I'll hang onto (Casey Coller, Joana Lafuente, Livio Romandelli, I got to chat them up longer than I thought I'd get to!), everyone was so open and happy to give me an idea of how to get into the comic book industry.
I still can't believe how many new buddies I made, I was just hopping around from group to group, chatting up everyone I bumped into at every turn, there's just no other place or fandom like that at BotCon. <3
I also got to meet a few artists from Japan, including Koterri, Gyozyou, and Brain23 (both in and out of her amazing Drift costume ;w;)! They were so sweet and polite, and I got to gush to Koterri about how much I love her artwork, I should've asked if she'd draw me a Cyclonus or Nightbeat! XD <3
Major props out to Elise (ironicother), she came to my rescue when I needed a spotter while in costume, and she did her duty magnificently XD
Taylor, Melissa, Key--ya'll know how boss ya'll are, we are /so/ gonna gang up on the next BotCon, for realz :I
And, o'course, my life was completed when I found a Whirl to pose with XD We got to hang out at a panel, and afterwards I posed for a very dramatic shot with the Starscream of the crew u3u (at the time I had no idea what we were doing as I could hardly see, she just told me how to stand XDD)
I met so many other peeps, and ya'll were so great, each of ya made this experience so special and wonderful for me, you were so nice, and some of the sweet things ya'll said while I was in costume...! QAQ We have a great fandom, made up of amazing people--fans and official contributors/creators alike. That being said.. please accept my derpy doodle of your beautiful faces--I drew most of you out of memory, so if I got your hair wrong (or if I even forgot to draw you >A<; ) then I do apologize XD; Yes, Key, I gave you a pretzel.. Laura, I /think/ your brother's name was Mike? XD;

Finally finished!! *body collapses as soul leaves it* This is the first costume I've ever done, and it's been an experience I'll not soon forget. It has its flaws, but I'm proud of my work and can't wait to wear it to my first BotCon! I'll be posting some more pics on my AskCyclonus-Cosplay page, as well as any pictures from BotCon! p.s. I think I'm something around 7 feet tall, horn included >lD I kept bumping into the ceiling fan... :I
((ooc: Hey howdy hey ya'll! Sorry I've not been posting as of late, I started working on my costume all day every day since I finished up finals last month! Here are some lil sneak-peeks at my progress! I posted my first costume-progress pic a few months ago--but then I decided to scrap what I'd done and start all over, cuz I'm crazy and don't value my physical/mental health or sleep >8D
I had originally intended to make my costume using the foam-covered-with-fabric technique, but I wasn't satisfied with how it was looking, plus I was concerned about how durable it would be. So! I decided to take another route--coating the foam/foam core boards with fiberglass resin to make it hard like plastic and spray painting it! It's my first costume, so it's o'course not gonna be perfect, but I'm proud of how it's turning out so far, this is a big project for me! X)

I've got platforms built into the "boots", so I'll be a few extra inches tall, and I reckon the addition of Cyc's horn will make me something around... maybe 6'5 or something xD Also, I've got a nifty set of red LED lights for the eyes! Don't worry, though, I've taken precautions to assure that no one will be blinded by them, the custom optic lenses/casings I made dim down the brightness intensity. X) It's all coming along quicker than I'd expected, so I should be finished within the next few weeks, just in time for BotCon! Lemme know if you're gonna be there, I'd love to meet ya'll!))

((So my buddy over at Ask-mtmte-Whirl drew this rather flirty Whirly Turd Bird, and I fell in love with it at first sight xD She's kindly allowed me to have my way with it, cuz I neeeded to see him in color +3+ *grabby hands* Hope ya like, Whirly Mun! (This is a lil experimental sequence I whipped up today, I wanted to see what it'd look like to apply my 'comic book' style to an animation. I'll probably be doing more of these, maybe I'll do each of the Lost Light characters? Hope ya'll like it!)
After seeing #13 of MTMTE, I was a little bummed that we didn’t get to see Cyc with an avatar, so here’s my take on what he might look like. I was going for a modern samurai look, and I thought he might also wear his clothes a bit casually and loose so he can move easily. For his face: a long, hooked nose and a widow’s peak hairline XD Hope ya’ll like!
