happy easter! i’m celebrating the resurrection with a part two to this blurb about jack edging dennis for forty days…

dennis learned during his theology degree that during the medieval times, birth records in parishes would decline nine months after the beginning of lent, and then pick back up nine months after easter. it wasn’t exactly an edict to abstain, but people would be abstinent on their own accord.

those people obviously didn’t have jack abbot in their bed. dennis would never have voluntarily denied himself pleasure at his boyfriend’s hands for this long on his own. it was jack who sent down the order, though. and his word was as good as god’s.

and for whatever reason, dennis listened. at first it felt pious, the absolute restraint, maybe it was helping him focus on his faith. then it felt like he couldn’t focus on anything else besides jack’s hands or mouth or thighs.

easter sunday was supposed to mean community, a wholesome celebration of the resurrection. instead, for dennis, the only thing he could think about rising was…

dennis couldn’t even finish the thought. he was in mass for christ’s sake. but he thought about it every time he knelt and stood and sang. dennis thought about it the whole time jack had his hand on dennis’s knee on the ride home.

dennis didn’t even make it to the bedroom. he pushed jack onto the couch, not caring at all about wrinkling their sunday best. jack was laughing at just how eager his boyfriend was, but he just didn’t understand. dennis had waited forty days and forty nights. over a month of yearning and touches without anything coming to fruition. and now he was free. dennis could ascend and crest and soar.

jack was skeptical that dennis was really holding off. god only knows what people get up to in the privacy of their own homes, but this was confirmation enough. the clumsy kissing, the high pitched, desperate noises, the way dennis hadn’t even loosened his tie or taken off his belt before he started humping at jack indiscriminately.

“jesus, i’ll fuck you if can hold off,” jack said, amused at the urgency.

dennis shook his head, “can’t. sorry, i just gotta-“ he cut himself off with an involuntary moan. jack grabbed dennis’s ass and dennis squeaked.

jack had a hell of an internal clock. he knew exactly how long a minute felt. it was convenient during seizures and compressions. the skill was absolutely intoxicating right now. two minutes in and dennis was stuffing his hot face into jack’s neck and positively whining. his hips stilled, spilling into suit pants, huffing into jack’s tan neck.

a hand pet it’s way through dennis’s curls. jack teased, “couldn’t even wait a minute longer, huh?”

dennis felt a clarity he hadn’t felt in a long time. he whispered an embarrassed, “will you still fuck me after i put these pants in the wash?”
