Gartin is an orphan and as part of a gag, he will almost constantly be called Annie and at one point where a red and white pinstriped shirt to support the joke. He will even come across a dog and call it Sandy.

Gartin hates dogs and wolves so much that he never took the time to learn what to call them. So he calls dogs "Doges" and wolves "Woofs".
