ââŤâ âJapanese, Iâm from Shibuya. If the nameâs too hard just call me Phones.â
Heâs looking around, memorizing the layout. And somewhat concerned. Why arenât all the shops in one place? Seems like a child made the placement choices. At least the town is small?
ââŤâ âThereâs not much here, what do you guys do for fun?â
âPhones. Thatâs a lot easier to remember. Iâll do that, thanks.â
She shrugs at Nekuâs question. âThereâs an arcade with some old videogames we go to sometimes, but usually we either just play games or read comics at home, or hang out with friends and cause trouble. Sometimes we do some neighborhood-wide LARP game my friends thought up, but we havenât played in a few weeks ever since the Wizard-King got grounded for trying to teach his other wizards how to fly.â

â Kyle stared at the girl with a look of disbelief; here she was, in front of some weird-ass portal that could take her to a different dimension, and all she was concerned about was how she looked like a beard?!
ă â ă âYeah, youâre a fucking greasy hipster in this South Park,â he groaned as he shifted impatiently. âYou have fucking messed up priorities, you know? Now câmon, we donât have all fucking day!â
With that, Kyle shoved Sam through the portal, letting her tumble through the static-like emptiness between the two South Parks. Sheâd be fineâŚÂ
  ⌠probably.
The image of Stan faded as Sam went through, leaving only the pleasant-looking version staring at him. Kyleâs expression twisted in a snarl, his gaze hateful as he prepared to jump through the portal.
  âI fucking hate you.â
With that, he crossed through, hoping he wouldnât end up landing on the girl when heâd arrive on the other side.
âWAAAAAAGH!â Sam shrieked like a girl (well she WAS, but still!) as she stumbled through the portal, falling end over end through a strange, writhing field of light and dark. It looked like something on Grandpaâs old black-and-white TVâŚ
Eventually, she fell out on the other side, landing unceremoniously on her face, toppling over to one side and lying there for a long moment. The ground was her friend. The ground wouldnât hurt her as long as she lay there unmoving. Good ground.

âOh yeah? You gonna do your sneaky girl bullshit stuff?â Craig was vaguely aware that the girls seemed to communicate in a different way than guys did and that there were certain ways to get information you wanted. Not that Craig knew any of those ways just that that was how the girls operated.Â
At the suggestion of fighting games, Craig smirked slightly. He was good at fighting games and well he didnât really know how good Sam was, but well he was fairly confident in his abilities. âSounds good to me. We gonna do one fighting game or seven different ones?â
âHmm. Good question.â She looked around the arcade, seeing what they had. Many of the fighters in question were really, really old... they still had a Killer It-Stinks game cabinet, after all. So that, Mortal Contact, some Japanese cartoon-styled game called Guilty Gay XXX... ... was that it?
âThey only three different games here. Maybe we better just stick to one. Got a preference?â
Hiatus-ish
I really havenât been feeling Sam lately - my utter silence for about a month should show that. Probably best if I own up to the fact that sheâs on hiatus at the moment, then. Dunno when Iâll be back. Sorry, folks.
ââŤâ âNeku Sakuraba, Iâm new around here.â
She seemed alright, knew how to roll with sarcasm at least and that was definitely a point for her in Nekuâs opinion.Â
ââŤâ âThink you can show me around?â
"Sure thing, but there's not a lot in South Park worth seeing. This place is kind of a hole."
Still, she led Neku towards the shopping center on the outskirts of town, just about the only place in South Park that was worth exploring. She took a roundabout path, giving him a chance to get used to the layout of the town, but it was pretty straight-forward... even if WHERE certain things were made no sense at all.
"Neh-koo Sah-koo-rah-bah, huh. You Asian or something? Like Mr. Kim?" Not the most tactful of questions, but Sam wasnât used to people being tactful around her either.
@asked-a-stupid-question
âIf it matters to you whoâs doing the shit talking, Iâll try to actually pay attention if I hear it again,â Craig said with a shrug. While he didnât really want to listen in because he didnât want to get pissed at a bunch of girls, he also figured helping out one of his friends preceded that.Â
At the change of topics, Craig gave a slight smirk before crossing his arms. âI guess that depends on what machine you want to get your ass kicked at first.â Craig didnât really care what they played first.Â
Just not the dance machine.Â
Tall typically off balance people and dance machines did not go well and Craig would fall flat on his face.Â
"Eh, don't worry about it. If it happens again, I'll start asking around myself." She might not have grown up entirely as a girl, but Sam knew a few tricks, and she knew where to start looking.
For now, though... what could she smoke Craig at? Dancing games was an obvious one, but knowing how awful he was at them, it didn't seem like a fair competition. No, she'd start with something else, and only get nasty if he got cocky.
"How about a fighting game? Best four of seven?"
askedastupidquestion:
ââŤâ âNot at all. I just asked a question without wanting to hear the answer.â
The black-haired teen paused, then snorted and started to laugh. She appreciated the fact that he was able to snipe back calmly; in a place with South Park, that was a handy talent to have.
"You're alright, kid. I'm Sam, Sam Marsh. Who're you?"

⢠Welcome to Paradise ⢠[for asked-a-stupid-question]
â The grass crunched under Kyleâs feet as he led Sam through the woods. The place was a windy mess of paths that led nowhere on the best of days, but it seemed even more ominous now, if that was at all possible.
ă â ă âMountain lions? Yeah, thereâs some wildlife and shit here.â He stopped, then, looking at Sam as if sheâd grown a second nose. âSatan-worshipping rabbits, though? Thereâs⌠none of that shit here. What kind of place is your South Park, anyways? Jesus, I thought mine was fucked up.â
Eventually, he stopped in front of what seemed to be absolutely notion, in a patch of grass well off the beaten path.Â
âWeâre here. Youâre going to go first, though, because I donât want to go through and have you running around here⌠youâd get stabbed before you could scream.â He grabbed her shoulders, guiding her to a specific spot. âStand here and wait.â
Before Sam could possibly comment about his sanity, Kyle watched as the air shimmered in front of the pair, distorting like a television whose antennas were out of sync before showing a reflection⌠that wasnât her. A figure that looked like â for lack of a better description â a greasy hipster version of herself, materialised in front of her, looking at the pair with a sneer. Standing next to the reflection was one that Sam was more familiar with â the Kyle she knew, the one who wasnât a vandalising, knife-wielding maniac, who was staring at the two with a small smile.

"South Park's always been fucked up, man. Yours is just a really... different kind of fucked up."
Sam did remain silent in spite of the crack at her courage; if Kyle was any indication, wandering around here would be dangerous. Still, standing here staring at nothing was giving her a headache-
Wait, no. That wasn't a headache. This was happening. Actually happening. She saw the air ripple and settle like a bizarre sort of funhouse mirror. The alternate image of Kyle was almost heartbreaking in its familiarity... then she focused on her own doppleganger.
And recoiled. "Oh my God, is THAT what I'd look like with a beard?!" Priorities, Sam.

âIâm not ashamed of my body or my underwear. Youâre free to pants at the ready.â Craig figured she was just messing around with him, as he was with her. He wasnât actually going to get in a fight with her or anything. Craig liked being around Sam, she was actually in Craigâs opinion more pleasant the way she was now, though maybe that was just because they had actually become friends after what had happened with her.Â
Shrugging a little bit, Craig said, âTo be completely honest, I donât actually remember. I tend to tune people out when they talk shit about people Iâm friends with. Makes it easier to resist the urge to punch them for doing it after all.â It was true though. Craig was somewhat protective of his friends and well when someone was talking shit about them, tuning the person out normally worked better for Craig than punching the person in the face.Â
"Hrm." Sam couldn't fault Craig for not wanting to get involved... unfortunately, that meant the knowledge that people were talking about her behind her back was either going to rankle and fester - possibly leading to her needing to 'cope' - or she was going to bug one of her more connected (or ruthless) friends to find out the answer. Neither was particularly good for her conscience... but at least drinking herself into forgetfulness wasn't going to hurt anyone else or cost her money.
Well. No more than it usually did, anyway.
Enough of that, though. They were here to kick ass at videogames, and so they would.
"What machine you wanna hit first?"
Duel at Dusk
Dallas shouldered his sword and sighed. He eyed the raven haired warrior from a few paces back and cocked his head to the side. Stan lookedâŚdifferentâŚbut thenâŚthis could be an other like Kyle. He brushed it off with a sigh and subtly shifted into a more defensive stance.
âI donât turn down a chance to completely trounce someone with a sword.â He smirks and lowers his sword from his shoulder. âAnd itâs Dallas nowâŚbut please, feel free to leave the King title.â
"I think not."
Sam stood up, drawing her sword from the ground and hefting it behind her head, like she always did.
"King? You're a sham, Dallas. And I intend to prove it." She whirled then, her long hair swirling through the air as she spun, swinging the sword out to gesture at him menacingly. "En garde, you-"
She stopped. Blinked several times. Then finally blurted out...
"... what the HELL did you do to your HAIR?!"
Yep. Definitely not Dallas' Stan - not with that feminine voice and soft-featured face - and definitely not Sam's Douchebag. Last she remembered, he had short brown hair and blue eyes. He was also half a foot shorter. The hair was what caught her attention the most, though.
((Happy birthday! I hope it was everything you could've hoped for ^^))
Thank you! And it was actually quite nice, more than I expected! ^_^
[ Happy Birthday!! Hope you have a good time C: ]
Thanks a bunch! XD (also we totally need to thread or something~)
( Fun fact, I had one of these tonight! A cranberry chuhai. Finally got a chance to! Was pretty good, honestly. And if Iâm feeling it, I havenât really noticed... )
