Even with just general pain I get sometimes from being on my prosthetic too long, he’ll sit me down and massage the stump as long as he needs to until it’s gone..
“He’s a really great boyfriend. Even if I sometimes get a little difficult with him because I have things to do he says he can read it on my face when it’s bothering me and makes me stop anyway. He’s always looking out for me.”
J: “Being in love with Hiccup Haddock is like a series of heart attacks. He’s a great boyfriend and I love him with all my heart; the Gods themselves couldn’t keep me from him, but by Thor this idiot has a death wish with that Dragon Fly thing... not to mention how his dream is to walk up to every dangerous lizard in the archipelago and touch its nose.
“There’s literally not even enough time in the day for me to have him worrying because I’m always so busy worrying about him.”
H: “That’s not my only dream... I also want to spend my life with you.”
In which Hiccup becomes confused but in reality, if Jack was a servant and not a prince things would be so much easier for them. He’s just so used to Jack looking super regal and fancy that one of his maids outfits would really throw him off.
H: “Jack understands me, lets me feel like I can truly be myself in a way I’ve only otherwise felt when I’m with Toothless. Sure, I have friends now, but they’re not exactly easy to talk to about things that bother me. Plus, Jack had never judged me for what I was or who I was. He always cared about me unconditionally despite my past. So it felt right.”
J: “Hiccup... well, he understands the feeling of being alone and feeling like such a screw-up. He lived through it before, in a different way than me, but that makes it easy for me to open up to him. He’s always there, ready to talk or spend time with me when I need it, so taking this next step just felt like it was meant to be.”
To Blog creator: Do you ever picture Jack and Hiccup being parents?
YES! Absolutely. I don’t see how they wouldn’t eventually want to be parents. Jack more than Hiccup, but yeah.
In any instance, no matter the au in question, Jack would be the one to bring it up because he loves kids and in most of my aus he does have his sister and takes care of her and has experience with that kind of thing. Hiccup would be weird about it because only child with no experience with kids outside of Jack’s sister sometimes. He’d also be worried about being a bad influence because of his upbringing.
Though as actual dads? Hiccup would try SO HARD not to be like his own dad and end up a dream crusher that puts his kids down. He’ll be cool, lenient dad that lets a kid get almost away with murder, but he’s also scary dad. If you mess with his kid? Oh you better start running tbh because he will hunt you down and his husband will be right behind him to back him up. Jack would be a lot more overbearing to make up for Hiccup’s slack, especially at first, but at some point they’d really find their groove working together as they get used to the whole parenting thing.
As for my aus. Most likely to be excited about being dads is rpnau. They’re so sweet.

Does the flower that's poisonous to dragon's effect Dragon Hiccup too? Or is the effects not as strong?
The list of things that affect Dragons comprises of four known things: dragon nip, dragon root, eels and blue oleander flowers. Some of his reactions aren’t as intense as he is only a half-blood Dragonling, but he is still affected by all of them.
Explanations under cut for each thing and how they affect Dragonlings and Hiccup.
Dragon Nip:
It is the least dangerous of the four, it simply serves to make a dragon docile. When exposed to it, Hiccup (and all Dragonlings) will be come incredibly distracted, his pupils will dilate, and he’ll have the urge to roll around in it and nuzzle into the grass (much like Toothless in the first film). If Jack is holding it, he will cling to the elf and cuddle him half to death.
It is used as a bit of a recreational item in the clans themselves, and it is very popular among the younger crowd. It sort of gives them a slight high.
Dragon Root:
A dangerous thing to expose to most Dragons or Dragonlings. Just like with Dragons, the Dragonlings carry different “species” traits. Some species are not affected by the dragon root and are always appointed special position in the clans in times of war for if an enemy launched a dragon root into their camp, most would be thrown into an aggressive frenzy and begin attacking one another. It is up to those non-affected to dispose of the nasty root.
With Hiccup, he does get affected by the root for sure. He will become aggressive and defensive, and a clear indicator this is happening would be slitted pupils that are nearly overcome by the green of his eyes. Being a half-blood, the dragon root does not have the hold on him it would a full-blood so he can be calmed down enough by someone he trusts until the root is found and disposed.
If it is directly put into his bloodstream by a dart or arrow there isn’t much to be done until the effect wears off. This is true for all Dragonlings. They will lose their ability of flight, and become grounded, but are incredibly hostile and still very dangerous despite being a bit wobbly on their feet.
Eels:
Eels, when ingested by a Dragon or Dragonling leads to the disease known as eel pox which can be deadly if not treated but is nowhere near as lethal as the blue oleander.
It makes all species of Dragons/Dragonlings very sick and hostile, while increasing the intensity of their fire (or whatever they happen to shoot from their mouth). It also disorients their senses where their vision becomes blurred and that confusion is mostly what makes them hostile. It becomes very difficult to make out who or what is in front of them and it is not at all a fun experience.
Luckily the only way to contract eel pox is through eating the eel.
Blue Oleander:
Very deadly. Like the dragon root, there are some species of Dragons and Dragonlings who are immune to its effects, and they are always the most effective healers of the clans. It is easy for them to retrieve the antidote as they would be able to handle the flower with no problem.
Hiccup is entirely able to be affected by this flower. It would kill him if an antidote was not found in time. Half-blood or not, he will succumb in a similar amount of time as a full-blood. At the most he’d have a few extra hours.
#FANTASYAU How was your first kiss with Hiccup? (Was when you were child?)
J: “Our first kiss was when we were kids and it was really…surprising. I’d already known Hiccup liked me because he purred a lot when we were together and his wings would wrap around me and he got really cuddly sometimes, but I didn’t really expect him to kiss me.
“He was shaking afterward, getting scared when he realized what he did. He could’ve been in a lot of trouble if I didn’t feel the same way and he knew it, but lucky for him I did feel the same way. He liked me for who I was, not what I was, the first person to treat me like I was normal. Plus it didn’t hurt he was really cute…”
Very bad. Definitely very bad. There was one instance that someone had brought Jack a new dish that featured eel, the second that chef had come in and Hiccup caught a whiff of it he was hissing, growling, and taking an offensive stance in front of Jack- much to the Prince’s surprise and to both of their embarrassment later. It took Jack a good while to calm him down once he forcibly dismissed everyone from the room for some privacy.
Needless to say, that chef never again stepped into the dining room while Hiccup was there, and Jack had eels banned entirely from the castle.

[Jack absolutely adores his gigantor tree of a boyfriend and honestly he instigates a lot of the cuddling himself. He’s just a little shit about it. Hiccup is actually still the more stoic of the two. He’s pretty much always the relatively more stoic one across all of the aus.]
